What you get:   Hound stays in its own kennel inside our doggie condo (vaccinations a must-proof required!). Insulation, heat, air,  lights, 8 foot runs with 5 feet of shade; roll cage work with one of our rabbits.  Training Contract: tells you what we will and won't do, prices in writing, and consent for Veterninary treatment, at your expense, if the need arises.  If your hound is not collar/leash broke, we will do this and charge you the fee(s) set forth above. Your hound is supervised at all times unless in the starting pen overnight. The starting pen is a  1/4 acre fully enclosed pen with rabbits. There is shelter for the hound.  Once started, the hound is tested in the wild on our 10 acres or other acreage we run on. We do NOT shoot over your hound-that's up to you.   Updates are via email or phone, pictures only if email available.  When you pick up your hound, we provide you with an itemized time log of time spent and what was done with your hound. If your hound starts, we require that you view your hound working prior to releasing him/her to you. We do work on handling and on 'downing' - no good to hunt a hound that doesn't hunt near you or that you can't catch- so if it doesn't know to down or come, we'll teach it and charge you as stated.
We work on a rewards system, however, if necessary, we will use a minimal amount of correction on your hound.  Your hound will receive a weekly treat (Dog Biscuit).
We are NOT responsible if you drop off a skiddish dog and it runs away! If you think your hound is skiddish, PLEASE tell us-it changes the amount of 'getting to know you time' we spend with the hound.
When we notify you, you will have one week to pick up your hound.
After that, we charge
$2.50 per day per hound for up to 2 additional weeks.
After that, your hound is ours! It's all in the contract.
We use a shock collar when we're outside of the starting pen because in addition to an abundance of cottontail, we have all sorts of other things, like this:
Start Fee: $55.00 per hound plus one bag of  your dog food to feed your hound. Food and 1/2 of payment due when you drop hound off. Remainder payable when you pick up hound.
**Hound should be at least 6 months old**

Time Limit: Three Months...If after three months your beagle hasn't started, you will be asked to pick up the hound.

You are now entering the starting pen.
It is our belief that a hound must understand its game and this entails seeing it. We use a protective roll cage to 'visually' introduce the hound to the rabbit. Once a hound is interested, it's time to go to the field.
We provide food and water for the hound and the rabbits in the starting pen. Here is a feeding station for the rabbit. This pup has run the rabbit into the station. No worries-there's a back escape hatch for the rabbit!
This two year old bluetick just started and she loved rabbits! Here, she thinks she's cornered one in a feeding station and proceeds to dig under. Ever wiley, Mr. Bunny, left through the rear door and was long gone!
20 point non-typical...
in case you were wondering!
