SmAsHmAsTeR's World of Badminton
Last updated: January 29, 2006
Hello everyone!

This is a website for anyone who has an interest or passion for badminton. I decided that people do not understand the intensity and the difficulty in which the sport is played, especially at a professional level. If you know little or less about badminton, this page should give you an insight to why so many people around the world love badminton. I will be updating this website regularly so please visit it and see what is new!

Badminton is the second most popular sport internationally behind soccer.  Badminton is the fastest racquet sport in the world; the fastest smashes have been clocked at 322km/h. Some of our top Canadian athletes, Andrew Dabeka and Stephan Wojcikiewicz, are competing in tournaments right now. Dabeka is placed 1st in Canada and 24th in the world, currently. Wojcikiewicz is 2nd in Canada and about 72nd in the world.  Both are amazing athletes!!! see www.andrewdabeka.com for more information concerning our top athlete!!!

Let me tell you a little about me. I have been playing badminton seriously for about 5 years.  I trained with Andrew Dabeka, Stephan Wojcikiewicz, and numerous other fantastic coaches throughout the years. I trained with James McBean and my doubles partner, Linda Ching. This year I am playing for the University of Ottawa Badminton Team for the Gee Gee's and Linda is playing for the University of Waterloo Warriors!
