CURRENT FAVOURITE SIMPSONS EPISODE

the kidz newz one where bart is doing his 'bart's people' segment. he talks about a guy that's 'feeding' ducks, but in actuality there are no ducks in his pond, only that he was feeding at the wrong pond (does that make sense?).

bart [newscaster voice]: This is Old Joe. 86-years-young. For years Joe has been coming to this watering hole every day to feed the ducks. But today... the ducks are gone! Where did the ducks go? Some say they flew off to Canada, others say Toronto... and others still say that Joe used to sit at that watering hole with those ducks over there. But in any case, it's a sad commentary on the world today. One man... no ducks! Back to you Lisa.

i couldn't stop laughing.

OTHER HILARIOUS MOMENTS

the little vickie episode - 'tappa tappa tappa'

little vickie: i'm ever so pissed!

*the tango del muerte (sp?)

lisa: well if you could give me a little more to work with than 'tappa tappa tappa'...
little vickie: ... when i was your age, i could have killed for tappa tappa tappa!

the halloween episode with the hair of Snake... the hair shakes its fist!! yay!

Also, the Alec Baldwin/Kim Bassinger episode with that red headed director guy which i can't remember his name right now... rod somebody... or is it rob? that was hilarious... the hummer scene at the end! wahoo! [edited to add: it's ron howard]

Paraphrased from the Spring Break episode:
Velma: So, you want to be a broom boy?
Bart: I sure do!
Velma: You're enthusiastic. I like that! And you want to be a mop girl?
Lisa: Not really.
Velma: You're honest. I like that! (To Homer and Marge) And you two haven't said a word. I like that!
...later...
Marge (looking at the trailer): It's so.....cozy.
Velma: You're insincere. I like that!
...later...
Velma: Hey, you're stealing my trailer!!!! I like that!

Haaaaaaaa...

ON GOLDFINGER...

pussy says to james on the plane, "you can turn off your charm; i'm immune." in the book, supposedly, pussy is a lesbian. well that makes more sense... (i just put two and two together this morning, what a revelation!)

ON TRAVIS (the band; see links)

i really like fran's voice. and the guitars are awesome. there are no words to describe their musical greatness. their new album hits these pleasant shores in October 2003. can't wait! all i want to do is roooockk.

ON COLDPLAY

i've recently found that i am strangely attached to coldplay's music. i first listened to their full albums on the train to boston (it was a 10 hour trip! what else was a girl to do? *twirls hair*) and fell in love. that band is doing good things, both in music and in trying to make trade fair. you go boys! and no, i don't hate gwenyth.

ON TRYING TO READ BOOKS

i can't seem to get through books. it's weird. i can start them, and i can certainly finish them, but hmm let's see... books like crime and punishment and lord jim (bad examples i know) i just can't stand to get through. others like the power of one and jane eyre (well maybe not jane) i can read multiple times through and through. really weird. with british classics, its visualizing that particular masterpiece theatre episode in my head as i read that keeps me going. sad huh? but more recently i've had more success with jane austen novels. they crack me up! especially when i'm by myself and i can read alound in a funny british accent. I *loveee* pride and prejudice and more recently finished northanger abbey. both quite refreshing and delightful to the senses. next on the list: wives and daugters, and FINALLY the mill on the floss. it's been i think four years since i've tried to read that book. *sigh*
