Episode 26: Nice and toasty Bowser taps his foot on the floor, while (still) roasting cauldron 3. "Sure is taking this guy a long time..." "How do you know that he still needs to, er, cook?" Yoshi asks, clutching his stomach. "Well, usually, when they burn, they bounce up and down in the cauldron in pain. Classic Mario Party rule." "And, uh, how are you able to talk while breathing fire?" Yoshi queries again, confused. "Uh...I dunno." Inside cauldron 3, Syaoran sits slumped against the side of his cauldron, half-asleep. *Ugh...when will he learn? My fire resistance spell won't last that much longer...* 10 minutes later... "OK, screw this." Bowser grunts, and stops breathing fire. "I'm getting tired of this. You guys win, let's get to the next stupid game already." Yoshi, Mario, and Luigi sigh in relief and hop out of cauldron 1. Syaoran then pops out of cauldron 3 a few seconds later. Rubbing his back, he turns to reveal the fabric of his robes half-melted. *Cut it a LITTLE close there...* he explains. MINIGAME 2: Bowser's Big Blast (from Mario Party 2) "OK, here's the deal." Bowser begins the standard rule explanation. "There are 5 switches. One of them activates this big bomb behind the glass (which really does not save you), which will then promptly go explodey-kaboom, blowing the person who pushed the switch (who is the closest) to bits. Enjoy!" He walks off, but then returns, adding, "If you all manage to hit a safe switch, I'll reset them and you'll have to go through another round. Get through that and well, I'll do it again! Until one of you is toast! MWAHAHA!" Luigi shudders. "Is-a there no-a way-a to win-a?" There is no answer, as Bowser has already left the room, watching through a different pane of glass. Mario steps up to the switch first, in an act of courage (even though, in reality, he has the least chance to pick the bomb switch). He has the choice between the green, yellow, red, white, and purple switch. He pushes down the red one, naturally. There is an ominous pause, and then the giant Bowser-shaped bomb lets off a puff of smoke. Mario's safe. For now. Luigi trades places with Mario on the platform. He quickly runs to the green switch and presses it. Another pause, and another puff of smoke. Yay. Luigi begins breathing again, and jumps off the platform as Yoshi steps on. "Hey wait, he took the green one..." Yoshi moans. He then settles for the white switch, pressing it down very gently. Pause. Puff of smoke. You know the drill. Syaoran then steps up to the platform, as Yoshi gets off. *Hey wait a second, why do I get the 50/50 chance?* he complains before shoving down the purple switch. Pause...............smoke. Yay happy. Bowser roars from behind the glass, and presses a switch. The 5 switches dissapear momentarily, then reappear, all unpressed again. Mario goes first again, and once again takes his color switch- the red. Luckily, the same thing happens as before- pause, smoke, no kaboom. Luigi decides to try the yellow switch this time. However, he gets the same results, which is a good thing. Still, everyone is safe. Yoshi this time gets to take the green switch, like he wanted. As happy as one can be while in mortal peril, he confidently presses it down. He gets what he expects- nothing, but a puff of smoke. Gee, a lot more boring to read then to watch, huh? Syaoran, again stuck with the 50/50 choice, ponders for a while, and then realizes that it doesn't matter how much he ponders the decision, it's still random luck, and pushes down the white switch. There is the usual pause, and then, suddenly, there is a countdown...3... 2... *Gee, why do I get all the bad luck?* Syaoran laments. 1... 0. |
