3...2...1...fall. For no explainable reason, the two spaceships plunge toward the nearest nondescript planet.
Robotnik walks out in a very high-and-mighty manner. "OK, let's make this interesting!" he shouts.
"NO! YOU IDIOT! SONIC! I WANT TO KILL SONIC!"
"I hate to break it to you, Amy- no wait. No I don't. I've wanted to tell you for a long time that I never really liked you at all. You were just another rabid fangirl. You still are. I've had enough of those. This capture really hasn't worked out too badly, because I will never have to deal with you again. That's how it should've been from the start."
Tails is suddenly in a torrent. "Sonic, how could you!? I always believed that you were a hero, a nice guy, a person everyone could look up to. Amy would do anything for you, she loved you with all of her heart, and you don't take ANY of that into consideration!? You should be glad that you are looked up to, admired, posted up in children's bedrooms! What has happened to you, Sonic?! I never thought...you could...be like this..." he drops off quietly, in kind of a depression.
"...Tails? What are you doing here?"
"...Amy..."
"I always thought that he really did like me. I believed him. I LOVED him. But, then, I don't understand. How he could just be so...cold. I thought he cared. But he didn't. Nobody does. Nobody wants a stupid useless pink hedgehog who only shops and chases people around. Nobody cares anymore..."
"...there are...other people in the world who...care about you very much, Amy." Tails blushes and attempts to put words together.
Amy looks up. "Who?"
Tails goes back to looking down at the ground, then glances at Amy hopefully. "Well, for one......me."

Another Stupid Plot Twist
Episode 20: Marmalade Hedgehog Pt. 2'
Yoshi asks, "So are we going to do anything but sit around and wait to fall back into the main plot?"
Syaoran leans against a tree, bored. *Tails and Amy probably found each other in some far-off cave, and now the story focuses on them. Sucks being a secondary character, eh?*
Zelda looks up. "I thought we were the MAIN characters!" she says.
*Well, we are. But we're, like the secondary main characters, or something...*
Jigglypuff sighs. "Jiggly puffpuff jiiiig pufffff...(It must really stink to be a secondary secondary
character...)

Amy sits there, now her jaw moving up and down, silently, in an attempt to produce an audible noise. She squeaks a first time, then stands up, glances back at Tails, and sprints out the front of the cave, running away from her problems, her fears, her worries. Again.
Tails sighs, and flops backward onto the floor. He curses under his breath. "What did you expect..." he says aloud. "You were the one who thought that some good would come out of that...I don't see anything different. Is the world a better place now that you told Amy? Is it?" he verbally beats himself up. Slowly, tears begin to trickle down his face. "You had to get your hopes up..."

Robotnik taps his foot on the floor, deep inside his secret-lair-ship-thingy.
"Darnit...where are they? They should be storming the place by now...it's not as much fun. There's no triumph. I'm about to kill my life-long enemy and NO ONE CARES! AARGH!" he stomps on the floor.

"Pii chu chu pichu pi? (Are we main characters yet?)" Pichu queries.
Syaoran sighs, eyes closed. *Nope. Not yet.*
Yoshi laments, "And I was so curious about what all the characters not in the action do, too...turns out it's nothing."
*Hey, it beats the Green Room.*
"Sounds-a good to-a me." Luigi comments.
*Yeah, but it's just a room...that's green. Nothing else.*
Zelda snaps to attention. "Hey, something just flew by on the right side."
Syaoran opens one eye. *Probably just a bird.*
"...it's Amy!"
The group looks up. Finally, something's happening!
"It...was Amy." Zelda sweatdrops, as Amy continues fleeing past the group.

Amy, um, continues, running, aimlessly. Yup. Until suddenly, she screeches to a halt in a plain-boring-grassy-area(tm).
"Why am I running...? What am I running from...?" The inevitable questions are asked.
Thinking harder, she answers, "I'm running from Tails who likes me because I like Sonic who doesn't like me." She groans and falls to her knees . "Why can't life be simple!?" she shouts to the world.

Tails continues to talk to the air in the middle-of-nowhere cave. "You know, I should probably do something stupid like chase Amy. It's boring sitting around complaining all day." He sits up momentarily, then falls back down. "Ah, what's the point?" He then sits up again. "Maybe I should go back and join the rest of the group. Or maybe go save Sonic." Flopping back on the floor, Tails jokes, "Hmm... a couple more stupid thoughts and I'll have completed another set of situps!"

"Piiiichupi pichu... (Can we do something yet?)" Pichu whines.
*Well, we could go save Sonic...*
Yoshi declines the offer. "Why? He hurt both Tails and Amy, I mean, like, just because we thought he was a good person...but now, he's just, um, evil."
*Yeah, but the stupid thing about being a hero is that you have to save everyone you come across and all that junk.*
"Well-a...we have-a nothing-a else to-a do." Luigi comments.
There is general agreement among the group, and they proceed to storm Robotnik's ship. Rather unenthusiastically, but still...

Red lights flash inside the secret-lair-ship-thingy.
"Ooook! We're in business!" Robotnik springs to action. "Hmm...lessee...what sort of evil blocking weapon should I deploy on the group that will stop them, but is weak enough for them to slave through to me?" His finger hovers above several buttons as he decides which one to push. "Massive army of robots...rising lava...boatload of lasers...boulder chase...cute thing overload...ah, here we go!" he pushes the next button.
Somewhere else in the secret-lair-ship-thingy...
Splut.
Syaoran freezes. *Did you hear that sound?*
"Sounded like a splut." Yoshi says, confused.
Splut.
"There it is again..." Yoshi repeats.
Something smacks Jigglypuff in the face.
"Jiiigly puffpuff jig puff jiggly (Aaaaaaaugh it got me!)" Jigglypuff screeches and falls over.
There is a bit of commotion as the group crowded around Jigglypuff. There is a pause...then, some chatter.
"Jigglypuff jigjig? (Am I dead?)"
Zelda sweatdrops. "No, actually you just got hit in the face with a banana cream pie."
"MWAHAHAHA! Boy, am I evil!" Robotnik gloats, floating down from a platform. "I bet you would have never seen THAT fiendish scheme coming!"
*The sad part is, technically, he's right...*
"Now here's the best part! I have this button right here-" Robotnik pulls up the button. "When I press it, Sonic shoots into space and boom! He's gone!"
"Um, yay. Should we be stopping him now?" Yoshi asks.
*Got anything better to do?*
"What are you waiting for? Hurry up and try to stop me!" Robotnik commands.
Shrugging, the group fights through the stream of banana cream pies in a pathetic attempt to reach the button before Robotnik presses it. Yay.

Amy looks out into the sky, which is suddenly nighttime.
"Hey, a shooting star..." she remarks. The shooting star then spontaneous explodes, causing Amy to reel back momentarily.
"...that was probably Sonic..." Amy says, in a voice showing no feeling. For she does not know how she should feel...
Should she be sad? Her Sonikku has run away, forever?
Should she be happy? That's what Sonic gets for dumping her?
Should she turn to Tails? Someone who actually likes her for who she is?
Who knows...
