My name is Lauren and I was born on August 1st 1988. I am 5'8" and weigh 8 stone. I have a nuclear family consisting of one Mum, one Dad, and one brother, as well as myself. We also have a rabbit and a dog as family pets. We live in a four bedroomed house just outside of a big city in England. Sounds pretty typical, huh? Not really, but I won't go into that here, this is about ME.

Ruin Your Life This is a website about mental illness, self-harm and self-hate.
For a start I suffer from depression. I have been battling with it for many years but it was only recognised a year ago. Since then I have seen two psycotherapists and two psychiatrists and I have been on anti-depresants since September 2003. This has all been a great help and I am glad to say that I am getting through it now, though it hasn't been easy in the least bit. I have also been suicidal too many times to count. One way I dealt with the depression was to self-harm. This was like a psychological attempt to balance out the mental pain on the inside with self-inflicted pain on the outside. I started to self-harm in October 2002. This consisted on mainly cutting but did also include some burning on a number of occasions. I am pleased to say that as the depression eases so does my need to self-harm.
