| Heartbroken was I, when I saw him laying there A couple of years ago, he lived with my grandma Pete was her special bird for many, many years People say, Pete use to talk before she passed away Yet, I had never heard him say not even one word He was a pretty old bird, so I have been told After my grandma died, I got to have him Losing her was just too much for him to take Often I would try to get him to start talking again Words I would repeat to him every single day Eventually I had hoped that he would talk again Eagerly I waited for him to repeat what I said Now he is dead too and I'll never hear him talk � By Sue 10/29/01 (Pete passed away10/28/01) |
