BIOMETRICS
Biometrics refers to the technology for measuring and analyzing a person's physiological or behavioral characteristics, such as
fingerprints, irises and facial patterns, for identification and verification purposes.
Biometrics is used in two ways:
Identification
Identification is determining who the person is taking the measured characteristic and trying to find a match in a database containing
records of people and that characteristic. Used mostly for crime scene investigation.
Verification
Verification, making sure the person is who they say they are. This is done by taking the pervious database with the record of the
characteristics and comparing it.
