SMAQUP’S GAME SHOW COLLECTION

(pronounced smack up)

Site last updated: Tue. 9/1/09  New month, new poll, new additions, new season(coming in 21 days though), new game show seasons.

I’m STILL not available to trade because of other important things. NO MORE OFFERS AT THE MOMENT PLEASE!!  I shouldn’t be closed for too long though.  Or at least, I hope I won’t be.  If you wanna trade with me when I become available, please read my rules below and agree to them.

1.  This is THE most important rule(at least IMO) in game show trading.  If you’re a veteran game show trader or have traded just a couple of times before, then you know this rule already and you may skip it.  However, if you’re (relatively) new to the game show trading scene, here’s the rule:  Don’t ask me to trade for money.  Trading for money is illegal.

2.  All trades must have equal time(2 hours for 2 hours, 4.5 hours for 4.5 hours and so forth).  The recording range is 2.5 hours(min.) to 12 hours(max.).

3.  When you create my tape/disc, I would appreciate it if you tell me the order in which you recorded my shows by either email or on a piece of paper that will be mailed with the tape/disc.  It’s like a track listing on the back of a CD or a cassette tape.   And of course, I always do the same for the person I’m trading with.

4.  I always email back when I have finished and mailed your tape/disc and when I have received my tape/disc.  I would like for you to do the same please.

5.  If I see a show from your collection that I’m interested in that have the following...

·        quality issues

·        parts cut out(i.e. beginning/introduction, credits, middle of the show)

·        commercials or no commercials

·        bad or low audio

...and it doesn’t mention them in your collection list/website, please tell me before we trade.

6.  I have instant messengers for AOL, MSN and Yahoo! for which I will make the username(s) available ONLY after we have decided to trade.  Communicating via instant messenger will be done for trading purposes only(mainly because it’s quicker and more convenient so I don’t have to wait ‘til the next day or two days to talk to you like email).

7.  I don’t mind giving updates on how things are going when making your tape but don’t bug me by emailing me too often(like twice or thrice a day, every day, etc.) asking me when your tape/disc will be done.  Emailing me once every other day is good enough.  Same thing applies for instant messenging.

8.  I fully agree and understand that sometimes there are more important things other than game show episode trading.  And that is why if you have the slightest idea that you’ll have other things going on that might stop you from trading or slow you down, I want you to tell me before we make a deal.

9.  If something goes wrong when making my tape/disc and you’re unable to record all or some of the shows that I asked for, let me know so I can pick replacement shows from your collection.

10.  If any of your shows have any old, classic commercials, especially TV promos, PLEASE LEAVE THEM IN!  That is, if there’s enough room on the tape/disc.

11.  Let me know if you want a DVD instead of a tape.  Also, please tell me if you can record DVDs as well for I might ask for a DVD too.

Hey, where did you get the name Smaqup from?

Well back in early 2000 when I signed up for Yahoo!, I used to watch WWF(now WWE) shows. And the name came from WWF Smackdown, with the “up” instead of “down”. I wish I’d known way earlier that I could have more than one Yahoo! profile (with a different and much better username). But when I found out it was too late. The website had already been online for a few or several months, plus already a couple of trades were already made by then, so some, if not, most people have already been accustomed to my username and this website. I also didn’t feel like making up a new username and password to join a new website service and tried to work with what I already had.
