| 1) Mama Mia's - A rooftop terrace bar, a stage area with live music Wednesday through Saturday, a bar area with a giant projector TV showing soccer, football, or E! television, and a restaurant with live music combine to make this one of San Miguel's busiest night spots. 2) Dublin Bar - This relatively new "Irish Pub" has quickly become a major hangout thanks to its dart board, pool table, and good drink selection. 3) La Cucaracha - This historic family-owned bar--a number of famous ex-pats have frequented it over the years--offers cheap beer and a different atmosphere than other hangouts in San Miguel. 4) El Agua - Small, hip, and the only place in town to get pulque, a mexican drink brewed from maguey (a relative of the agave tequila is made from). 5) Char-Rock - Occupying the top 2 floors of a corner near the Jardin, Char-Rock provides good views and salsa dancing on Monday nights. 6) Pancho y Lefty's - Live music and late night hangout "el Lounge" make this a fun place to go after an evening at Dublin or Mama Mia's for late night people. 7) El Ring - Popular dance club. 8) La Fragua - Used in several scenes in the movie "Once Upon a Time in Mexico", la Fragua is a more upscale hangout with live music and a large bar. |
