I woke up in Canada
Unafraid of bottle
And rocket cans
I had gum in my hair.
Tangled in greasy
Sunlight, my body
Screamed jaw boned
Black and Razor blues
In blades, lying in poison-
Berries, the sky crushed
Rocks, along the steely
Spine of the border
Between awake
And numb.
I put gum in my pass
ink time smeared
the railroad deer, who
Ducked into the bed sheets
Horns first
The final Canto
He chewed on them
And I watched
Chewed on popcorn &
Disregarded my gum
Amazed this moment
Ever came,
  with butter and salt,
Waking up in Canada

Preservative Free.
