There's Tourmaline in them there hills... and other gems as well!
We've only done a little exploring, and in the interest of preserving the mountain, there will be no mining here.  However, here are some of the specimens we've turned up so far while hiking.   More pictures will be added as new discoveries are made:
Above: Two garnets show from this rock, now part of our stone wall.
Above: A large black tourmaline and a smaller garnet lie in a vertical rock face on the second hill.

Below: Black tourmalines shaped like a crow's foot.
Above: Tiny bits of green tourmaline show among books of mica in this rock, part of our stone wall.

Right: This lovely specimen, on display in our office shows black tourmalines in uncommon fan patterns. One crystal measures nearly four inches long.
Black tourmaline patch discovered March 30, 2002
The only thing I was carrying that could be used as a size reference was my cell phone, which I had brought to check for reception from the mountaintop.  The reception experiment was a failure, but the hike led me to find these boulders fairly sprouting black tourmalines of good size.
