Fees For Non NHS Work

There are occasions when you may require a service from your Doctor which does not come within the terms of the NHS.  Your Doctor is, therefore, entitled to charge a fee for such a service.

As a guideline the British Medical Association (BMA) has drawn up a list of
recommended fees.  These fees are updated annually, using as a guide any increases awarded by the Doctors' and Dentist's Review Body.

Below is a list of the most commonly requested services and fees:

Freedom from Infection certificate   �10.00
Provident association claim form (BUPA/PPP)  �13.50 to �29.00
Sickness/accident insurance benefit claim form �13.50 to �29.00

Medical Examinations & Reports
Pre employment medicals  �61.50
LGV, PCV, taxi driver  �92.50/�61.50
elderly driver fitness certificate  �92.50/61.50
racing driver certificate  �92.50/61.50
fitness to attend school  �61.50
seat belt exemption  �61.50
fitness for sports  �61.50

Access to Records under Data Protection Act
Computerised records up to  �10.00
Manual records or combination of manual/computer record up to � 50.00

Travel Abroad 
Course of vaccinations (non NHS), plus cost of vaccine  �20.00
Private prescription for drugs not needed immediately for travel abroad    �8.00
Vaccination certificate  �10.00
Holiday cancellation certificate  �15.00
Fitness to travel certificate  �10.00
