| To give your press release a professional flair and preserve the importance of
the various elements in your Press Release, maintain the relative size and position of the
various elements illustrated in the press release template below. You should consider using a press release any time your organization has a news worthy event. Some common news worthy events are: | ||
| | When it's created or when its legal entity is restructured, | |
| | When the organization moves into its intial or new office location, | |
| | When a member of the organization is making a presentation to a prestigious or civic organization, | |
| | When someone is promoted to a senior management position in the organization | |
| | When the organization announces its financial results or other significant financial activities such as, stock offering, additional funding, awarded contracts, | |
| | Whenever someone in the organization or the organization itself is the recipient of an award, or | |
| | When the organization the a major donor or sponsor of an event. | |
| While specific news media may have a specific format they would like you to use, the press release template illustrated below, is widely accepted. You should check with the news organization for their preference; however, because the less effort you require the editor to make the more likely you are to get your press release included in their media. | ||
