Name: Noah Kitaan Huitanguru Tuhakaraina - Pronounciation (no-aa) (kit-tarn) (hu-we-ta-nuu-ru) D.O.B: 13/02/2005 Relationship: Nephew/Brother/Son
In reality Noah is my nephew because he is the son of my cousin Charlene. Charlene gave birth to Noah at Waikato Hospital. My mother was to take over care of him from the time he was born. Mum now has been through the full process of adoption, so I finally have a brother but it takes a bit of getting used to. For 21 years I got used to saying that 'I'm an only child' so it is good to realise that I now 'have' a brother. Noah's first name was chosen from out of the bible. When Noah was born he looked a lot like his Uncle Kiani. Malachi my son used to call Kiani 'Kitaan' which is how Noah got his first middle name. Huitanguru means the month February in which he was born. He has made amazing progress and continues to shine through. Malachi is excited to have a baby in the house and also has had to adjust to our new family member. He now calls baby 'Huitanguru'. We went through several formula's (baby's milk) to find the right one for him as he is a very chesty baby. His mother (Marcella) took a couple months off work to spend time with him and now that Noah is getting a lot bigger and starting to sleep through the night she has return to paid work. Noah was in my care, but is now only with me part time as my aunty has offered to help look after my brother. Noah started solids early and is starting to expand into different types of food. He has bad reflux, ashtma and echemy attacks where he tends to get worked up and stops breathing for longer than he should. He is a placid and happy child and really only crys when he needs something. He has grown a lot over the past few weeks, and continues to do so. He enjoyed opera music for the first few months but heard Hip Hop and R&B, and there was no turning back. He started at Puna Kohungahunga when he was only a few weeks old. Now that Malachi is a lot older and is continuing to go to kohanga on his own, I can now focus a lot of the daytime hours on my brother. At five months he would have had his first really bad sickness over the past week where he found himself weezing, coughing, shortness of breath. We found out that the sickness was caused through teething in which he recieved his first tooth at five months. Since this time, he now has three teeth out and one on the way. He now eats what we eat, mashed up. He just had his five month immunisation but has been in a wonderful mood dispite the circumstances. He loves his walkie and spends the weekends with 'Nanny Annie & The Boys.' The date today is Monday the 12th of September and he now has six teeth. I hope to be able to write more as time progresses and I look forward to the future we will all share together. It's coming up Noah's first birthday and he is still as special as the day he was born. He is a lot bigger now and starting to walk. His echzema rash is now fully under control, and his eating habits are out of this world. The breathless attacks stopped once he was off the bottle and he has made a lot of progress in all that he does. It's great to be able to watch these kids grow up and take notes of milestones. Arohanui Brother. |
