The drama titled "SHAHPAR" comprised six episodes with a
seventh one pertaining to the making of Shahpar. The drama
depicted life in the Pakistan Air Force, which is full of challenges,
thrills and action. It showed how people from diverse backgrounds
are selected and moulded into a fine fighting unit. It had a number
of lessons and morals, the most prominent being that one should not
expect awards and medals for serving one's country. To lay down
one's life in the defence of the motherland is by itself the greatest
honour.

The serial was originally produced to mark the Golden Jubilee
celebrations of Pakistan Air Force. It ran from July to September,
1997 with the final episode being telecast on Pakistan Air Force
Day, 1997.

The drama serial won a lot of praise and received very positive
reviews from various critics. The drama was also declared as the
best production of the year by the Musawwar Awards Committee.

Faisal Rehman, the hero, was given the Musawwar Award for the best actor while Nadeem Akbar Dar received the Musawwar Award for the best cameraman of the year for their work in Shahpar.
On great public demand the play was re-telecast on PTV World from September, 1999 to February, 2000 and again received a lot of accolade.
