About Jade:Before we begin I would like it to be known I think this is unimportant. I learned along time ago that the past is only important when you step into it. Oh well If you must have it than I guess I should start from the beginning. My name is Jade. That is the one part of my name you should know, to give ones full name is foolish. �To know ones name is to have power over them.� This is one think I truly believe, I have seen its truth. To be honest I really don�t know when I was born. My parents died when I was very young. For about 4 years I was bounced around many foster homes before I was �lost� in the system. In all honesty they couldn�t wait to get rid of me. Most of my earliest memories where being pushed into a small room with strange people. The homes would give me to anyone who would offer to take me. No one ever did. I scared them all away. It was because of the gifts I had. No one understood them. Not even me. It wasn�t long after my parents died, I woke up in a cold sweat. I was in my piece of shit roll out bed in the first foster home. The nightmare was bad worse than usual. It was chasing me, I didn�t know what it was I just remember the fear and pain. I remember the feeling of losing everything even the most important person to me. It was all because of this shapeless thing chasing me. I woke with a start just in time see all the pipes explode. That was the first of many explosions in my life. I know now the shapeless thing chasing me was that bustard fate. But that is a story for later. As it turned out the exploding pipes wasn�t a fluke after all. I wasn�t the only one to see this. After replacing the pipes 3 times the adults started to wonder. It wasn�t long after that I was on my own. One child can only take so many questions before he realizes that he isn�t trusted. I don�t even think that they looked for me when I ran away. A little over a month later I met her. I came to know her as Aileen. I found out about 5 years later that she was the council member of the west corner. When she came to me I was a mess. I had no money, my cloths were ragged and the closest thing to a shower I had was when it rained a few days before. I was starring at the lake I had found last night just before I passed out. When I woke she was sitting next to me. You may not fine this weird but no one sneaks up on me no one. But there she was. My life was changed forever with just 3 words �its time jade�. �Time for what� I asked �and how in the hell do you know my name�. All she said was �time to start training you to defeat what you are so afraid of.�. I don�t think I have to tell you I was scared shitless. Somehow she talked me into it but I don�t know how. It worked out pretty good though. She gave me a place to live in a town called Avalon. I didn�t have many friends except the old lady down the street. So I had a lot of time to train, but I would go to the old ladies house everyday and do odds and ends to help her. Not that she needed it but I thought she needed the company. I am glad for the time I spent there. But it came to an end as all things must, just this one was in a strange way. One day I Aileen ended my training early and told me to �go see the old lady she has much to tell you�. When I got there I found her lying on the couch in a strange manner. I thought nothing of it. We started talking but she sounded sickly. When I ask she told me not to worry. Then she asked me to do the strangest thing. �I want you to do something for me Jade.� �I need you to go to the attic door.� I replied �you told me never to go to the attic�. Then she told me �the attic is a special place, one that few can enter but I want you to try�. But when I got to the attic I couldn�t find the handle, but when I told her she laughed. �trace the rune� she told me. Then I saw the drawing that looked kinda like a big �D� written like this l>. I decided to trace it and to my surprise the door opened. She said �I thought so�. Her funeral was 2 days later. I was one of 3 people who showed up. The priest told me that her only family died years ago. A daughter and her husband who had had a son. He said the boy was rumored to be alive but nobody knew where. Then her attorney stepped in front of the priest and asked �are you Jade?� It was a shame I had to find out that she was my grandma by a bloodsucker like him. She left me everything. That�s how I became a rich man at the age of 16. I would give it all back if I could have her back for one year. When she died she took my family history with her and I would learn nothing about my parents. It wasn�t long after that I met Gwen and the crew, but that is a story better told by another. Now if you will excuse me dragging up those old memories has done me in. Perhaps we can talk some other time. I think I am done for now. Merry met and blessed be.
