Opening of the Smithcraft Festival, Day 1

Annik - Friday, May 16, 2003, 5:37 PM

-----------------------------------------------------

Main Meadow(#700RJ)

The expansive meadow ends here in a cluster of buildings. The structures are dominated by a huge grey slate edifice to the south, where a stream of crafters and almost constant sounds of craftwork indicate it as the main work hall for the Smiths. Otherwise, the main meadow is relatively bare - simple footpaths breaking up the broad, flat area, and a few clusters of trees at the fringes. The air blooms with the smells of fresh vegetation and pure sunshine. Dotted along the ground, small flowers peek out through the greenery, vivid purples, yellows, and whites. Blue sky is broken only by the occasional tree, but otherwise, not a cloud looms on the horizon. Whispy puffs of breeze stir the calm occasionally, but very little disrupts the lazy summer day.

Glancing around, you note several paths through the meadow leading to various buildings. The Dining Hall, partially connected to the Business Hall, is to the east, with the Apprentice Hall conveniently close in the northeast. The smaller Journeyman's Hall is directly to the north, the Resident's Hall is to the northwest, and the Chemistry Building is to the northeast.

Smith Meadow> Myriana watches the Smith Craftmaster run around. "Are we that harried when we have our festivals?" she asks of her Craftsecond.

Smith Meadow> Dendra shakes her head slowly and says, "I'm not, Myriana. But I do remember that Keara was a bit frazzled by the end of the Big Baker Bubblyfest at Benden.

Smith Meadow> "Keara was always frazzled." Myriana agrees, watching the activities bemusedly. She smoothed her skirt uncomfortably.

Smith Meadow> Taria wanders ion from further across the meadow waving to a couple of her apprentice friends nearby.

Smith Meadow> Dendra adjusts her big poofy hat and tucks her scarf in a little more securely. "Baker's duties to the Smithcraft!"

Smith Meadow> Wen walks slowly out of the apprentice dorms, giving a polite smile and nod to the Bakers. "Smithcraft's duties," she replies.

Smith Meadow> Taria fires off a Smithcrafts Duties." looking most formal, before scooting off to join her friends.

Myriana lifts her hand in greeting to the arrivals as she stands next to her Craftsecond. "That hat is going to hurt someone." the Craftmaster says with a grin. "Probably me." As the Smiths approach, she adds her own greetings. "Bakers duties."

Annik runs up from the lower meadow, quickly trying to look in every direction at once. "People ought to be arriving soon," she mumbles. She smiles as she sees Dendra and Myriana. "Oh, Smith's duties," she greets. "And welcome."

Dendra chuckles. "This is a soft hat, Myriana. I might get hurt if it falls over my eyes and I trip on the nail jar, but otherwise they're safe."

"Thank you. " Myriana responds to Annik, her gaze floating around the area. "You and your craft have outdone themselves with the festivities. We are looking forward to this." She gives Dendra a sidelong glance before flashing a grin at the woman with the hat.

Public announcement: Annik announces "It's about time for the second annual Smithcraft Festival to begin! We're in the Smithcraft main meadow ( smi-meadow), where crafts can set up tents if they wish. Come join the fun! :)"

Korynn has arrived.

Dendra sees the Craftmaster and says, "Baker's duties to the Smithcraft! I see you have a knife-throwing contest scheduled for tomorrow?" Her eyes gleam as she demurely mentions her interest in the game.

Lyxia has arrived.

Lyxia directs several Woodcrafters in the setting up of their gather tent.

Myriana murmurs aside to Dendra. "Are bakers even allowed to try for that? After all, we are the Masters of the Blade." She lifts her hand to wave to the arriving Woodcrafters as well. "Bakers duties to the Woodcraft."

Korynn thanks the two Fortian dragons as two apprentices collect their packages. "Harper Hall's duties," he calls courteously before sending the younger harpers to set up their tent.

Korynn oversees the Harper Hall pavilion's set-up.

Annik smiles proudly and nods at Myriana. "Yes, I certainly hope you have a good time." She nods at Dendra as well. "Yes, it should be quite fun." She waves welcomingly to people as they begin to arrive.

Taria is over chatting with some fellow apprentices, otherwise she'd come pay her respects to the woodsmiths too. Well, just in case Master Malia gets shirty with her. At any rate the small group appear to be discussing who's pulled tent-duty first.

Lyxia waves back to Myriana. "Woodcraft's duties," she replies to both the Bakers and the Harpers.

Wen eyes the group of apprentices ominously as she walks past and enters the Smith tent.

Dendra calls out, "Baker's duties to the Harper Hall!" She watches the pavilions go up and smiles. "Wonderful! I'll make sure to catch a ride here tomorrow in tine for that."

Wen heads into the SmithCraft Tent.

Wen has left.

Myriana calls out to Korynn as well. "... and to the Harper Hall too." The Baker Craftmaster watches the crafters put pavilions up around the area. "Definately need to see the woodsmiths for some kitchen tools." she murmurs.

There's much cheering ribbing and jostling as a chubby apprentice finds out the call has fallen to him, and he sets off to do his stint, .

From above, Madieth emerges from Between with a blast of cold air!

From above, Madieth spirals down to a landing on the main meadow.

Madieth spirals down and lands carefully on the meadow.

Madieth has arrived.

Korynn keeps an eye on the apprentices for short while before bowing before the assembled Masters. "I hope things are well at your respective Halls."

Brees slides down from Madieth's back to the ground below.

Brees has arrived.

Lyxia waves a group of woodcraft apprentices towards their tent. "You'll have plenty of time to enjoy the festival, but you've got tent duty first," she tells them.

Dendra waves to Brees as she arrives. "Hey there, Fingerroot Woman! How is Ista doing?"

Annik smiles at Brees from where she stands in the approximate middle of the meadow. "Welcome!"

From above, Jaereth emerges from Between with a blast of cold air!

From above, Jaereth spirals down to a landing on the main meadow.

Jaereth spirals down and lands carefully on the meadow.

Jaereth has arrived.

Jenni grips the leather straps and swings down from Jaereth's neckridges.

Jenni has arrived.

Madieth lands at the edge of the field out of the way to deposit her rider. Brees grins over towards Dendra and makes her way towards the Igen baker. "Ista's still standing. Found a way to get back at Katerin yet?" She turns to nod over to Annik. "Ista's duties to the Smithcraft."

Myriana gives Dendra an odd look at her greeting to the Istan greenrider but also makes her own call. "Bakers duties to Ista and her Queens."

Lyxia smiles at Korynn. "Things are quiet at Woodcraft, but well as always."

Annik nods at Brees. "Smith duties to Ista," she replies, then seeing the bluerider adds, "and to High Reaches!"

Myriana hears Annik's addendum to another rider and also joins in the greetings. "Bakers duties to High Reaches and her Queens."

Jenni gives Jaereth a pat along his neck and then smooths a hand over her dress to make sure everything is in place after the wind and that trip between. She lifts her hand, using the other to pick up the heavy fold sof her dress so she can hurry forward, "Highreaches duty to the Smithcraft and to the bakers and Ista and..." she laughs, 'everyone."

Dendra chuckles and shakes her head. "Not yet, Brees. I'm still getting teased about that cake. I want to let things die down, so she won't see things coming when I go after her."

Brees laughs and grins over at Jenni. "That sounds like the way to go. Ista's duties to everyone." Brees just grins over at Dendra. "It was such a wonderful cake. That must have taken her quite a while to get just right."

"I wonder who she used as the model." Myriana comments, giving Dendra an amused look. "Someone you recommended, hmmm?"

Jenni's eyes twinkle as she cuts through the crowd, looking for anyone that she might know. "Always so awkward when you go alone." She murmurs to herself, gnawing at her lower lip.

Dendra actually blushes slightly. "No, ma'am. I didn't know anything about that cake until it was brought out the night of the party." She tries to change the subject by greeting Lyxia profusely. One former Benden person to another.

Myriana's lips curve into another amused smile. "Mmhmm, I see." she murmurs, filing that away for another time to torture poor Dendra.

Annik raises her voice to be heard over to crowd. "Welcome, everyone, to the Smithcraft Festival. We have many things planned that I hope you will all enjoy. Tonight we will unveil our latest projects, and there will also be a ceramics demonstration. First, however, I think I will show you to the lovely dinner that the Bakers have prepared." She pauses to smile at Dendra and Myriana. "It will be out all evening, of course, for whenever anyone is hungry."

Myriana inclines her head with a smile at the acknowledgement of the Baker's contribution. "Ooh, ceramic demonstration. I'd love to see that." she murmurs softly to her fellow baker as she listens to the announcements. "I have marks to burn and interesting and creative items whet my appetite."

Brees turns her attention over to Annik as she begins. Brees clasps her hands behind her back listening quietly and politely.

Syeira has arrived.

Taria giggles at something, aas the group wend their way through various stalls and displays, pausing to stop when tthere's a mention of food. When /aren't/ apprentices hungry, as a couple of the younger lads head on over immediately from her group.

Lyxia grins at Dendra. "So, how have you been? It feels like forever since I last saw you." She glances over towards Annik, and her smile widens as she listens to the events.

Syeira sets up the tent carefully, raising several poles to support it on the inside.

Dendra smiles and nods graciously to Annik. With a twinkle in her eye.

Annik waves to Syeira. "Smith's duties. We're headed to the dining hall to see if we can make a dent in the food." She leads the way across the meadow towards the mid-sized building.

Dendra mutters to Lyxia, "... you. They actually promoted... to... a few... to... in..."

You head through the entrance into the dining Hall.

Smith Dining Hall

As you step into this large room, rows upon rows of tables first greet you. The scars and spots in the wood and the benches distinguish them as apprentice benches, victims to younsters' curiosity about their first blades. Farther into the hall are groups of round tables with chairs, journeymen tables it would seem, and finally across the far end of the room sits one long table. The master's table is on a slightly raised dais, no doubt to allow the masters to keep a better eye on the apprentices during the meal. A swinging door near the apprentice tables gives a glimpse into the bustling kitchen.

A large metal door to the west leads out to the main meadow.

Taria comes in from the main meadow.

Taria has arrived.

Smith Meadow> Jenni looks puzzled as to where she should go, "The baker tent or the dining hall?" She tries to catch someone's attention to get the right direction.

Brees comes in from the main meadow.

Brees has arrived.

Smith Meadow> Dendra follows Annik to the dining hall. "Come on, you have to see this. You'll never believe what we did to those apprentices if you don't see it."

Dendra comes in from the main meadow.

Dendra has arrived.

Korynn comes in from the main meadow.

Korynn has arrived.

Lyxia comes in from the main meadow.

Lyxia has arrived.

Jenni comes in from the main meadow.

Jenni has arrived.

Jenni murmurs her thanks to a rather husky looking baker who escorts her in, "you're so kind. Thank you."

Taria falls in, moving to the back of the hall out of the way of the more important guests and festival goers, but no less curious, as the whispering between the apprentices starts up.

Annik gestures towards the food tables with a flourish. "Here at Smithcraft we just serve ourselves, so anyone who is hungry can grab a plate. All of the tables are open, so sit anywhere you like. Oh, and if you get the chance, please thank Master Dendra for the wonderful menu."

Brees shakes her head after a look at the apprentices and grins over at Dendra. "Nice pink aprons." She comments before heading up for the food as soon as she hears the invitation.

Dendra smiles and wiggles her fingers at Brees. "Not my idea! It was Master Keara's to put the guys in pink." The male Baker apprentices all roll their eyes in disbelief, but don't say anything out loud.

Lyxia grins. She mutters to Dendra, "Well,... to Apprentice Master,... I..."

Korynn lingers near the end of the line, waiting for the ranking guests to serve themselves. The whispering has his attention, anyway. The Harper casually strolls near the apprentice Smiths, trying to catch a hint of their conversation.

"Nice idea," Annik mentions, glancing at the aprons as she grabs a plate of her own. "Too bad it wouldn't work here. The soot from the forges makes all of our aprons black."

Quarroul comes in from the main meadow.

Quarroul has arrived.

Annik keeps an eye on the front doors as more people trickle in. "Welcome," she calls. "Grab a plate and dig in." She smiles brightly as she reaches the first table and serves herself a little of everything.

Quarroul hurries into the tent, raking a hand through his hair, he looks rather frazzled, curls askew and clothes rumpled. "Baker's duties." He makes a line for the other bakers, trying not to trip into anyone.

Jenni admires the approns in silence and then grabs a plate and begins to fill it with several items, "this is just so wonderful! I just love gathers." This said to someone at her side with a large Lemos knot. "Don't get to have them nearly enough for my liking!"

Taria smiles at Korynn and waves a couple of fingers in his direction, as her eyes slide across to note those 'pink' clad poor souls clustered near the tables. There's a groan from one of the other smith apps though at the thought that Master Annik might put/them/ in something similar.

Lyxia finds a plate and gets in line, looking eagerly towards the tables full of food.

Brees makes her way down the tables of food filling her plate with a little of anything without meat and more of the dishes containing fingerroots. "Oh, this looks wonderful, as always."

Dendra says, "Thank you, everyone, for the compliments. And Annik, we can recommend a good Weaver to keep you in pink aprons if you want your kitchen staff to wear them. They give us a really inexpensive rate for replacements."

Annik grins thoughtfully at Dendra. "Hmm. I'll have to consider that." She takes her full plate to her usual seat at what is usually the Master's table. "I'm not sure I got even half of what's there. I'll certainly have to go back for more."

Lyxia steps up to the tables and begins to serve herself. "Everything looks delicious."

"He's too young for you..." comes one snickered comment in the corner. "Well he's too old for you." is the indignant reply of another. "Give it over will you." is a third disgruntled voice, this one male. "You're just jealous." says the first. "Of what?" "Oh shush up people, or The craftmaster will be down our throats in a minute." comes yet another furious, and audible whisper from the knot of smithcraft apprentices.

Quarroul looks over towards the conversation of the apprentices, eyebrows pinching together in thought as he tries to figure out what the fuss is about. A look is shot over to the other bakers but then he eyes the aprpentices again with amusement. "Sounds like a good time over there."

Korynn smiles slightly as he catches snippets of the conversation between the apprentices. As he draws nearer the serving tables, he gestures discreetly to the poor young men in pink. "Don't worry," he tells his own apprentices, "I won't mention a word of that to Master Jenufa. Or Olivia, for that matter. It all smells wonderful, Master Dendra!"

Dendra smiles from her seat and says, "Thank you very much! I'm glad yu like the food." She signals Quarroul to help himself before sitting down.

Annik does glance over towards the smith apprentices, but she doesn't say anything yet. She merely pours herself some klah and bites into her food, gesturing for others to sit down as she chews.

Brees makes her way over to take a seat at the same table as Dendra and smiles over. "It's your cooking, right? Of course people like it." Brees winks and then digs into her plate.

Dendra has to swallow some salad before she can answer. "The golden soup is new this time. I wanted to see if I could make a dish that color and have it still taste good. What do you think about it?"

Lyxia fills her plate and sits down at a nearby table. She takes a bite of her fruit, sighing contentedly.

Nudge, snicker. "Go on." as one of the smith's reaches the table now with her 'friend' just behind her. The poor girl just stands there stammering as she asks for a helping of plum ribs.

Korynn finally gets his turn at the serving table and slowly looks over his options. After much deliberation, he settles for small servings of most of the offerings. With a glass of wine in hand, he leads the small harper contingent to some empty seats.

Annik smiles over at the Harpers. "Will any of you be performing during the festival?" she asks between bites.

Vorlin comes in from the main meadow.

Vorlin has arrived.

"... you know you want too." is hissed out behind her as the poor girl goes an even brighter shade of red. Finally getting out a thanks and rushing away, shotting her friend a furious look only after they're well away from the table.

"Of course," Korynn replies cheerfully. "We plan on doing more than eating your food and returning to the Hall. Would you have any requests, Master Annik?"

Dendra notices the table is getting low on bread and egg salad. She excuses herself quietly and goes to the kitchens to send out more food.

Dendra pushes through the swinging doors leading into the kitchens.

Dendra has left.

Taria rolls her eyes and falls in line with the others. "I'm starving!" she exclaims to no-one in particular, even if quietly.

Vorlin glides smoothly into the Dining Cavern and glances around with a curious look before he give an even toned, "Bitra's duties to the Smithcraft."

Quarroul laughs quietly and shakes his head, "well....these green noodles are really something."

Brees grins up from her food over at Taria and waves over before turning back to eating quickly.

Annik blinks and shrugs at Korynn. "Oh, nothing in particular. Something fun, I suppose." She glances up at the lastest visitor, smiling and replying, "Smith's duties. Please, help yourself to the food."

Mishaelle comes in from the main meadow.

Mishaelle has arrived.

Smith Meadow> Dysan waves brightly to his father before the big brown takes off again. He looks about, getting his bearings.

Dysan comes in from the main meadow.

Dysan has arrived.

A ghost of a smile flits over Vorlin's mouth but, finding it's not at home there, it quickly moves on. He nods to those gathered and surveys the impressive looking spread of food.

Lyxia is quietly eating. No time to talk with all of this wonderful food around.

Mishaelle slips in quietly as to not disturb the proceedings, her amber gaze sweeping the room for familiar faces. Finally spotting one, she moves just as quietly and unobtrusively over to stand near the baker.

Annik waves for Mishaelle and Dysan to come in. "Welcome! Help yourself," she says, indicating the tables full of food.

Dysan walks in, letting his eyes get used to the shift in light. He takes a moment to see who's here, then answers "Thank you, Reaches duties." Dysan slides into the crowd moving towards the food.

Taria bounces over to Brees now. "Oh hullo. you came for the festival? hope you're enjoying it so far... Smithcrafts duties and all that!" she notes respectfully when she feels one of the master's eyes on her briefly.

Quarroul looks up from devouring food and smiles a greeting to people and especially to the healer Mishaelle. Managing to get his mouth free of food and says, "how are you doing?"

Brees nods her head with a grin. "Yep, the festival and an excuse to escape for an evening. How have you been? It's been quite a while."

Now that she's been spotted, herself, Misha nods to those assembled, stating in a strong alto voice "Healercraft's duties to the smithcraft. Thank you."

Carissa comes in from the main meadow.

Carissa has arrived.

Dysan is sly. Somehow, the scamp is already near the front of the line. He selects a tray of food, leaning towards the redfish, corn, bread, tubers and a cookie to top it off.

Mishaelle says more quietly, in a conversational tone "Well enough to drag my sorry hide out of my room for a change. Don't tell me then roped you into helping prepare the foodstuffs...."

Taria grins and nods. "Tell me about it." she says and adds "Oh you know so-so... still struggling with chemistry, and honing up on my skills." she finishes piling some greens onto her plate and moves aside for someone else. "You?"

Carissa wanders into the workhall with a baby asleep against her shoulder, looking a little worn. Looking around for a moment, she smiles to another Journeyman and moves quickly into the fray.

Annik smiles at Mishaelle and nods. "Smith's duties to Healer." She grins as she notices her Craftsecond. "Ah, there you are."

Quarroul shakes his head to Mishaelle, "nope. I'm just here to enjoy it. I've been busy at Fort Weyr, trying to get a new menu for them with their kitchen staff. Then I think I may see what the healers think about a new menu. I don't know though, healers are so busy they don't eat much."

Vorlin fixes a modest plate that seems to be heavier on the sweets than anything else and moves to stand near a wall as he nibbles and watches those present with an attentive eye.

Dysan doesn't know many here. However, he doesn't seem a very shy lad. He introduces himself to those nearby. "I'm Dysan.", he offers simply, nibbling on his corn. He spies Vorlin after a moment and tilts his head in recognition.

Carissa smiles wanely at Annik, "I couldn't find anyone to watch her. She'd sleep through the worst explosion, though. Unless I'm sleeping, of course. How are you?"

Mishaelle chuckles softly "Then again, maybe we're just holding out for things made by your hand. You have a way with some of the dishes, you know. Especially dessert, in my not so humble opinion." she says to 'Roul.

Jenni has been sitting by herself, just picking over food and admiring the lovely crowds gathered here. Spotting Dysan she lifts a hand and waves hello.

Brees shrugs. "Still teaching the weyrlings. We've got a new crop that's just learned to fly. And busy with my daughters. The food is wonderful tonight. Have you eaten yet?"

Quarroul's cheeks warm at the Master Healer's compliment, "my thanks for that. Next time I'm on duty with your hall, I'll make anything you wish." He lifts his mug, "did you try those green noodles from the table though?"

Annik nods at Carissa. "Better now that things seem to be going smoothly." She glances over towards the food. "Might want to grab some of that. I think Wen'll be starting her demo soon."

Mishaelle says with wry humor "I tend to be cautious about anything green that I can't distiguish what plant it came from by sight. Should I?" She moves to look over the offerings, yet not straying far.

Dysan crosses the room quickly to Jenni's side, brightening immediately. "Jenni! I didn't expect to find you here... although Jarina said to say hello if I did. How are you?"

Carissa shakes her head, "I'll catch something later, I'm feeling a little sick to my stomache still. We certainly got a good turn out tonight, didn't we?"

Annik glances over to the Lord Holder. "Feel free to sit anywhere you like," she says with a polite smile.

Lyxia slowly cleans her plate, sitting back in her chair to sigh with satisfaction.

Quarroul pushes his plate towards Mishaelle, "you can just have a bite of mine if you'd like. No need to go /all/ the way over there." As though it were such a long distance.

Annik nods again at Carissa. "Yes, I'd say so. Hopefully it'll continue this way."

Vorlin sees Dysan's nod and returns in kind but doesn't speak to the Reachian yet for one reason or another. At Annik's offer he makes another attempt at a smile, a twisting of the lips is all it really amounts to, and he says, "Thank you very much, I prefer to stand though so that I can see everyone more easily. Very pleasant gather."

Taria holds up her plate, just as she's starting to dig in. "Nearly. Ooh, they're flying already? It feels like it gets quicker every time." she says guiltily. she shrugs. "And the food is free at least," she grins widely. "But don't forget the tents, there's so much new things in there." she says with another little grin.. She leans over to talk to Apprentice Paulix nearby, something about time to change the guard, before the lad grins back at her and skeddadles, meatroll clutched in each hand, and a couple ofcakes finding their way into his front pockets as he goes.

Jenni wiggles her fingers to Dysan and makes room for him if he'd like to sit down. "Oh, I love a good gather. I wanted to get out and just have a good time. Of course, not as much fun when I don't know many people." She smiles even more, "oh, how is lovely Jarina doing?"

Mishaelle arches an eyebrow for a second, then winks at the baker "So kind of you." With a healer's precision she manages to snag a single noodle without touching any of the others. Scrutinizing Vorlin's knot, then the man himself, she says "Is that the new Bitran holder there's been so much hubbaloo about?"

Brees nods her head. "It does. But not for the weyrlings. It won't be too much longer before their flying mounted." She shrugs. "I guess time just flies. I'm haping to get out and look through the tents later. That's always so much fun."

Quarroul shifts in the chair, looking over in the direction of Lord Bitra, "I guess so." He says but admits to Mishaelle, "I spend too much time in the kitchen to hear much gossip. But the knot is Lord Holder." He turns back to his meal. "What sort of hubbaloo?"

Annik retains her own smile as she nods at Vorlin. "Thank you. I hope you have a good time." As a smith apprentice comes scurrying in, whispering something to Annik, she stands to address the festival-goers. "Our Master Apprentice, Wen, will be starting a ceramics activity soon in our lower meadow. Everyone is welcome to try their hand at some pottery making," she says with a grin.

Dysan does sit, although his food remains on his plate. He prefers instead to talk. He does manage to give Bitra's Lord a rather odd look, as if they have unfinished business. What business the boy might have with the Lord Holder one cannot guess. He turns instead to Jenni, "She's beginning to show quite nicely. I can't wait."

Taria grins cheekily. "And you know I'll be happy to get you a good deal. " she notes, winking ever so slightly. "But on't tell everyone that." she adds, still talking quietly.

Brees nods her head back to Taria and says softly. "I won't. I was planning to look around and see if I saw anything 'Cela might like to suprise her with."

Jenni smiles at Dysan, "That's so wonderful! I will have to stop by and visit you both sometime soon. Seems like I have been too busy for much else recently though." She does look in the direction Dysan is looking, "what's wrong?"

Mishaelle turns the power of her as yet still substantial charm on 'Roul "And much do we appreciate your dedication, ladd." She chuckles softly "Yes, yes, lord holder. I should know, considering I was born and raised there. Anyhow, so old friends o' mine in the guard wrote a few notes about odd happenings. Think at one time he was thought t'be dead or some such. I'd have to go back and read them to tell you for sure."

Korynn finishes off his meal and gets a refill on his glass of wine. "Take your time," he tells the Harper apprentices. "There is plenty of time to perform this evening. I'll be outside wandering through the tents."

Korynn heads out the large metal door to the meadow.

Korynn has left.

Dysan answers Jenni, "Nothing really. Do you remember why I was in the infirmary? "

Quarroul smiles, "I don't think I've been called a lad for quite a few turns. I've thirty turns on me." He lets out a sigh, "But I guess I should be glad I look so spry still." Picking over his meal he sneaks another look to the Bitran lord," well, you know how gossip can be master Healer."

Jenni nods to Dysan, "the thief right?" She asks in a lowered voice.

Public announcement: Wen announces "As part of the Smithcraft Festival, we will be having a ceramics activity shortly in the lower meadow ( smi-meadow, lm). Everyone will get a chance to make their own pottery and have it fired in the kiln!"

Lyxia heads out the large metal door to the meadow.

Lyxia has left.

Vorlin finishes up his plate and is pleased to see that it's quickly accepted by a passing worker. He deigns to mingle a bit now, moving from the wall towards the door to the outside, interested perhaps in the other activities that were mentioned.

Dysan nods.

Vorlin heads out the large metal door to the meadow.

Vorlin has left.

Annik smiles at everyone as she finishes her food and stands. "I'm going to go check out the ceramics activity, as I believe it should be starting about now. Enjoy yourselves!"

Taria grins. "Well, there's certainly plenty of choices." she notes softly to Brees. "Come on, you'll like this." she notes, as the CM announces the display is about to start. "Unless you're not finished eating that is?"

Mishaelle whispers not quite softly enough "Don't tell anyone, but I've more'n 50 turns on me." Her voice returning to a more normal level she adds "Yes, I know how it can be. Still can make one more curious than a feline, though."

Sudas comes in from the main meadow.

Sudas has arrived.

Quarroul obviously doesn't beleive the turns Mishaelle claims she has. There's a warm smile though and he nods, "your secret is safe with me." And a wink. "YOu could ask good Lord Bitra. Soemtimes that's the best thing to do."

Sudas heads out the large metal door to the meadow.

Sudas has left.

Dysan eats rather quickly, "Hmm.. pottery sounds interesting. I finished my chess set. Maybe it's time to start something new."

Jenni nods, "maybe i"ll go out and watch too."
