LINDA(LINux Digital Assistant) is a Linux-based embedded system which is targetted primarily as automobile audio player. It also has the capability of post-it, map-guide, and radio tuner. It's a joined project with Danny, my brother. He provided a lot of Linux kernel and application hacking; while I did most of the software/hardware interface design and programming. A linux PC of CD-changer size is mounted in the trunk.  A touch screen LCD is mounted in the center console of passenger cabinet to receive command/display status.  1.0GB of compact flash can store about 180 songs. We are almost done with this project; The box is mounted in my '94 Honda Prelude sports coupe for real-environment testing.

7/10 I took a test run at Neveda dessert and the scorching hot temperature really kills LINDA, I am building a plastic box that has better heat ventilation property

8/7 I really had enough of LCD (liquid crystal display); it's not visible enough for touch screen. I just got a VFD (vaccum flourescent display), I am gonna see if 600 cd/m^2 makes any difference!
