Ever Since nanu passed away on April 10th...the thought of finding someone for choto-mama was on everyonez mind...karon ota nanur shesh iccha chilo. Shunte naa shunte, ekdin choto mama phone kore bollo :" dana, aaj mama'r engagement..." amito shune "tho" hoye gelam...eki? tahole shotti ebar biye ekta khabo deshe giye...khushite ami atto hara...thik thik chollishar aage mama'r akdh hoye gelo...may 15th, 2002! Oidin ami phone-e choi ghonta katiyechi nanu barite..everyone was there karon Bou er bari jabe ora...I felt like missing out big time!! But hey..biyeto ekhono ache ta bhebe monke bujhalam...Er por theke shuru holo deshe jawar full prostuti...ek dike finalz er jonne preparation aar ek dike shopping and guchano...Mami'r cosmetics er bhar poreche amar upor...prai ek shopthah legeche list complete korte...Sephora te jete hoyeche choi bar!!!...dekhte naa dekhte chole elo June 14th...je din fly korbo! Etoi khushi chilam je...aar ager din raatre ami kichu khete bhulei giyechi!! Just think...on june 16th, I'll be in Bangladesh, three and a half years later!!

Nanu'r jonne shokh prokash holo hoito prothom din( so bad of us)...tarpor theke mathai biyer bhoot dhukechilo jore shore...Shobai khub change hoye geche koek bochore...picchi picchi asif, shanta, sumaiya, isha, usha...shobai dekhi onekkk boro hoye geche...instead of me and nasreen apu deciding on the dress code for gaye holud...it was shanta(11 yrs.) who actually "told" us what we'd have to wear...mojai lagchilo or bossy kotha barta shune, tai kichu bolini...picchira porbe chundri'r maroon kamiz and churidar...aar amra (nasreen, akhi apu, taniya, nisha bhabi, nishu, diba apu, ami....) porbo chundri'r shari! Ammu'ra jhorjet print er shari...Chelera cream/off white er punjabi w/ maroon chundri orna...Eshob kinte giye koto bar je central plaza aar sounthland centre e jete hoyeche ke jaane...reshmi churi house e jete hoyeche mot shaat bar...shobar jonne matching kore churi ante hoyeche amar aar nasreen apur...tachara royechilo, gazra'r order!!! nasreen apur maroon chundri'r sharir jonne giye, we almost got locked in at "Mimi Supermarket" at ten o'clock at nite...Cake er order dite jawa hote shuru kore 1200 card e naam likhechi amra...Asif Shanta oder barite niye geche amake aar nasreen apu ke..so they can practice their dance for gaye holud...Shanta is number one potu...nacheo khub bhalo...and w/ my instruction she became rather good at "Suno Miya" and "le jaa"...Asif er "le Jaa" dekhe ami aar nasreen apu hashite gora gori korchilam...It was reallyy funnnnn!!! tai dosh din ta ki kore je katiyechi ter paini...dekhte naa dekhta elo Gaye Holud!!

Gaye Holud aar Biye:
**Gaaye holud er jonne je concert kora hobe boleche, taa cancel kore dilo khalura...bollo je its not appropriate since nanu passed away only two months ago...and her grave is just around the corner...jodio oder jukti bhaloi...amader shobar mon kharap hoye giyechilo...what are we going to do till five in the morning??? Tobe moja amra thiki korechi...nanu barir room gulo shob picchira dokhol kore pheleche, shaju guju korar jonne!! tai ami, nasreen apu..aar bhabi chole gelam shantibag (boro khalar bhari..) Okhane giyechi bela dutai...faluda bananor dayitto chilo amader opor...tin joner shaja-goja shesh hote legeche prai cho ghonta...hehehhee!!! shari porte janina...so, by the time bhabi unar ta shesh kore amader ke poriyechen..tokhon bejeche raat aatta...odike amader ke phire jete bola hoyeche share chotai...oh wut the hell rite?? Choto mama stage e jete jete bejeche raat barota...goromer moddhe gole giyechilam ordhek totokkhone!!! raat ektar dike shuru holo nacha nachi...shanta, elina, rakeeb aar sumaiya necheche "suno miya" te...ami aar shanta for "le jaa"...me and asif did "suno miya" becuz of popular demand :o) and it was a hit!! Taniya did "shava shava"...she was later teased about cracking the stage w/ her weight, by riyadh and adnan bhaiya!! ami, nishu, rakeeb, asif, and raihan chacchu did "chunari chunari"...I think that was the best of all!! Mejho mamike nachiyechilo arju bhaiya aar khalu...and it was hillarious!!! Shute giyechi prai pone pachtai...tobe flooring e ghum asheni bole...chotai uthe jete hoyechilo amaderke...and rojima, ammu, ruma khala wud not shut up for one bit the whole time we tried to sleep!!
**Biyer din ta beshi'r bhaag shomoi kete gelo parlor e....amra mot dosh jon giyechi tai, shesh hote prai shaat ghonta laglo..."Lucy" te dekhi bou giyeche unar bon-ton niye...aar jei amra ektu uki dite gelam..bou er boro bon ta dorja bondho kore diye bollo..."ekhon dekhata omongol"...kochu'r omongol!!! So we were pissed and ammuder kache complain korechi e niye...after all...amra chele pokkho, amader shathe omon kora thik naa :o)!!
Bor jatri giyechi amra raat dertai! Agrabad theke potenga'r drive hocche mot poitallish minute...tobe dertai road ekdom faka chilo bole....adha ghontai pouche gelam "Munmun community centre"...mama'r garite: ami, nasreen apu, nishu aar shanta boshechi..( mama told us beforehand that we will and we are the VIPz :p) The forty five cars and six jeeps following mama's car...in a very well organized manner was a sight to see!! Jei amra club e dhukhlam..shuru holo tumul bristi!!! Amader lehenga gulor niche ek inch kada legeche...Bou ghore ashlo share chartai..and by that time we were dead tired...so I left w/ bhabi and choto aunty to shantibaag...even though choto mama said "tumi gele kintu ami khub raag korbo!!" But I figured he wud be busy w/ mami and wudn't notice me leaving....But he did..and I got that dissaproving nod the next day when I came to nanubari!
