Cheating Heart

*Brian’s View*

“Oh man. She left just like I was afraid she would. I am such an idiot.” I thought to myself. “And she didn’t even want to see me to say goodbye.” I was feeling like crap and I hated myself for being such a dumbass. The phone rang and I shook the thought out of my head.
“Hello?” I asked.
“Brian? Hey sweety.” Leighanne said softly.
“Hey Leigh.” I said, relieved. I was sure talking to her would make me feel better about what I had just done.
“You sound unhappy. What’s wrong?”
“I just told Mary about you, she got mad and left.”
“I thought you would have told her a lot sooner than this.”
“It was really hard to do though.”
“So you’re chicken or something?” She sounded mad. That was not something I wanted right now.
“Don’t you get mad at me too baby.” I whined.
“You should have thought of that sooner.” She said angrily and hung up.
“In other words my date for tonight is canceled.” I said quietly to myself.
“Wow, Rok. You’re doing a really good job of making the female persuasion mad at you lately. What’s your secret?” AJ said, coming into the room.
“You seem to be mad too.”
“Why shouldn’t I be. Mary is a perfectly good girlfriend and you just totally ruined it.”
“I seem to recall you messing things up with a certain girl too.” I tried to change the subject.
“Hey dude, we’re talking about you here.”
“I just really thought Leigh could be the one I’ve been searching for. I mean things with me and Mary were going just fine, but we haven’t made any progress lately.” I explained.
“You mean she wouldn’t let you sleep with her.”
“That is not what I meant!” I was angry, but inside I knew he was right. “Can you just leave me alone right now?”
“Fine. See ya later.”

*Rachel’s View*

“I wonder what is going on that Mary needs to come and be with me.” I thought to myself. Things had changed somewhat since Mary and I last talked. I had begun a new job. Trading stocks online. It was very profitable too. That’s how I got the new house that I was in now. It was so big and I didn’t like being alone in it so I decided to advertise for someone to stay there with me. This girl So’Cy replied to the ad and now she is staying here too. She is really cool and we became fast friends.
“Hey Rach. What’s up?” So’Cy asked as she came through the front door.
“My sister is going to be here in a little while. She wanted to stay with me for a while.” I had told her a little about Mary before, but she didn’t know she was staying with Backstreet Boys. She also didn’t know that I used to date AJ. She wouldn’t believe me anyways.
“Oh. So I finally get to meet the infamous sister?” I guess I talked about her a lot.
“Yes, you will get to meet her.” I looked around the house a little. “It’s a mess in here. She’s gonna think I live in a pigsty. Will you help me clean up?”
“Yeah, sure. Just let me put on some cleaning music.” She put in a Backstreet CD and I secretly groaned inside. I liked the music, but I didn’t like to be reminded of AJ. When we were just about done the phone rang.
“Hello?” I asked.
“Hey Rach. Can you pick me up at the airport now?”
“Yeah sure. Give me ten minutes.”
“You got it.” I immediately hopped into my yellow jeep to get her. When I saw her in the terminal I was so happy. We ran up to each other and hugged.
“It’s so good to see you!” She screamed.
“Hey, I’m right here. You don’t have to yell. It’s good to see you too.” I led her to my jeep and she just looked at it in awe.
“You finally got the car you’ve always wanted huh?” She smiled.
“Yeah well, I got a new job and I’m… very comfortable.” I answered.
