Burning in the depths of hell since 1987, these satanic death/thrash minions have issued their seventh demo, Burn With The Beast. Call me crazy but shouldn't a band that wants to do something with itself have more going on than still releasing demos after their first two? I'm not used to seeing something listed as a bands seventh demo, not without a few actual releases mixed in somewhere, but i guess crazier things have happened in the world. Anyway this upstate New York four piece - Bud Blasphemous, Dave Demonic, Christbeater and Sean Satanic - have put together a sound in total tribute to the old school style of death metal, along with using every element in the book to make this a cliche' Satan-fueled release. With a very direct, dirty muffled approach, there's elements of Possessed, Slayer and Celtic Frost mixed with a bit of Obituary and Suffocation. Blistering light-speed picking with plenty of Slayer-born guitar riffs backed by fierce guttural vocals that sound as if they were recorded in a cave miles under the Earth's surface rip you through 12 tracks, including "At War Again", "Six 6 Six", "Impaling The Virgin", "Immortal Spirit Of Metal" and "Walking Through The Fire". Obviously this is nothing new in the metal world, but it is a fairly impressive disc overall. My only real complaint is the drummer's lack of ingenuity in his playing. Sure he fills the gaps, but at points the beats are so repetitive i actually got annoyed. But for the most part it fits and works well, so no shit sandwich for him.But if these dudes ever get a "real" record out somewhere, I think a lot of y'all that dig the old metal styles would be out there picking it up. Grab this one (along with their other 6 demos ) from their website. Check out the Baked Zone section for a  good time.
