The Temptation of Jesus(Luke 4:1-13)

Jesus follows the Spirit into the desert, and is tempted by the devil. The devil tried to make Jesus do his works for his own pleasure. The devil said, "if you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread." But Jesus replies to the devil "One does not live by bread alone." Jesus rebukes the devil and does not give in to temptation.

Jesus believes in God so much that he goes to the desert to pray to him. Jesus is tempted to use his powers to satisfy himself out in the desert, but Jesus shows complete trust in God and strongwill. He is determined to do what he thinks is right. He follows his conscience and does not let the devil make him lose his faith. Jesus shows a good example by sticking to his beliefs and never falling to sin. He lets the father take care of him. Jesus believed that the father would take care of him in the desert.

Jairus's daughter and the women with a hemmorage(Luke 8:40-56)

Jesus is being led by an official whose duaghter is dying, on the way there, a woman with hemmorages touches Jesus and is cured. Jesus asks who touches him and she says she wanted to be healed. Jesus says to her "Your faith has saved you." Jesus then is brought to the daughter who now has died but Jesus raises her from the dead.

Jairus has faith that Jesus can help his daughter which is why he brings him to his house. Jairus does not even really know Jesus yet he has faith that Jesus can cure her. The woman has not met Jesus yet she also believes that simply by touching him, she will be cured. They trust in Jesus despite having no reason or evidence to support their belief that Jesus will help cure them. Their faith in Jesus is rewarded as they are cured.

The Blind Bartimaeus(Mark 10:46-52)

As Jesus is walking, a man calls for Jesus. Jesus asks him to come foreward. The man asks Jesus to restore his sight. Jesus does telling him "Your faith has saven you."

The blind man has faith and trusts that Jesus can heal his sight even though he had never met Jesus. Because the man had great faith, his sight was restored. Bartimaeus believed in the power of God and was rewarded. 1
