REAP
The REAP(Retreat
Evangelization And Prayer) Team is an Archdiocesan Youth Retreat ministry. It
is made up by specially chosen teenagers and adults who are trained to convey
the gospel to all. They are a resource that is
gifted that serve young people in their spirituality. They are all committed and
have devoted their time to serving God and others. They are loyal ambassadors
of Christ and the Church with marvelous ability and skill to reach into the
complex world of the young.
The REAP
team was founded by Paul Masek in 1989. Paul made a
deep commitment to his faith in college. During his college years, he became
interested in youth ministry. After graduating college he started performing
youth group work for others. Paul officially created the group in 1989.
The team’s focus is to open up people’s hearts
to Jesus Christ. Their events can range in length from an hour to an entire
weekend. REAP team hopes to make the Church’s teachings come alive in the minds
of people and personally challenges others to deepen their faith.
The Team
members come from different backgrounds. With such diversity, the Team approach
is very effective in opening students’ and adults’ hearts to God. The REAP team
uses fun in passing the message of God using humor, drama skits, and faith
sharing.
The purpose of
the team is to open people’s minds, fill their souls with love for Jesus Christ
and create an environment where a person can feel and experience Christ. The
team is made up of about 90 people who serve during the school year. 2 members
are full time employs and the rest of the group are
volunteers. About 4-5 members go on each retreat. For more information about
the REAP Team visit their website which I have as a link. This is REAP Team’s
17th year of service.
