Faith in the secular sense means something that is believed with strong conviction or allegiance or loyalty to a duty or person. In the Catholic definition, faith is an intellectual assent to a loving God and his revelation to us. Faith is a grace as it is undeserved help. Faith requires a free human response as we must listen and respond to god's call. Faith is a risk. Faith is reasonable as we do not blindly trust in it. Faith is certain as we know we believe and stick to our opinion. Faith seeks understanding. Faith is also a virtue which is goodness or right action and thinking.
Nihilism is the view from people that traditional values and beliefs are unfounded and that existence is snseless and useless. Nihilism denies all objectives of truth, especially moral truth. Nihilism has reason, but no beliefs. These people choose to not believe in anything at all. They say reality is meaningless.
Skepticism is an attitude of doubt to increduality. Skeptics believe that true knowledge or knowledge is uncertain.
Radicalism is believeing in something despite no evidence to back it up or strong evidence contrary to your beliefs. Fundamentalism is a type of radicalism in which a group interprets their religious book literally. Fanaticism is a type of radicalism in which someone believes in something so zealousy that their actions become hypocritical and unreasonable. Radicalism applies beliefs, but no reason.
Do I sometimes have blind faith? I do cause sometimes I can not stand for these beliefs not to be true as said in Second Hand Lions "You believe in them because they are worth believing in, doesn't matter wheter they are true or not." Therefore I believe in some things despite lack of evidence to back me up because my mind needs it to be true.
