The human condition is the condition in which all of us find ourselves by virtue of being human. We must examine ourselves and find out our needs. It is part of the human condition for most people to worship some type of God. The human condition helps us try to explain everything we do as normal of us being human. As part of the human condition we are all bored and have anxiety form time to time. We always plan to live how we want, but are never totally happy. To be happy, we try to diverge our thoughts from death naturally.
Concupiscence is our desire to do good, yet we still do wrong. We want to do what is right yet we fall to sin as a part of human nature caused by original sin. Concupiscence is our desire to hear or see what is harmful or detrimental to us. Through concupiscence, we are mysteriously drawn to sin and do what is evil even though we do not want to.
Original sin is the first sin that resulted in the fall of man. Before original sin, there was a state or original justice in which we would not die. As a result of original sin, we have concupiscence, wounded intellect, and death. Wounded intellect means that are minds have been seriously affected by the sin and we have been frustrated in our search of truth. Emotions thus overrun what we know to be true. Death the other effect, causes us to wonder about God.
Through the right speech experiment, we learned that lying has almost become a habit for us. We often tell insignificant lies or half-truths out of habit and natural human condition. We do not always know why we lie, for we would not get in much trouble in some of these circumstances. Yet we continue to deceive, and then later feel guilty about it. I have learned to think and make sure not to lie to my friends for I do not believe that friends should lie to each other. I am now trying to apply this right speech experiment in my life.
Do
I always realize when I am deceiving myself from the truth? I try to not deceive
myself and look at facts to support my beliefs and opinions. But, sometimes, I
choose to look at some facts and ignore others. So, the answer is yes, I
probably deceive myself sometimes, but I do not think it is that often that I
do.
