MONDAY, July 7
CLASS We begin class with a reading of the Declaration of Independence from NPR.
9 till 9:45 Student interviews. Review of some key ideas fromt he first two weeks and posing the question, "If all you said about the human condition is true, where do you go from here?"
9:45 till 10:00 Who is the most faithful character from one of these: Star Wars, Lord of the Rings or the Matrix. List aspects of his faith.
10:00 till 11:00 A few more readings. about the humna conditon and what man needs to do: Aristotle, Jefferson and M. Scott Peck.
11:00 till 11:15 Journal
HOMEWORK Read/mark Readings pages 2-10, sections A and B, in the What is Faith? section.
TUESDAY, July 8
CLASS Pat Ivers begins class with a reflection the lovers, the dreamers and me.
9 till 9:15 What would you do? The request from Mr. and Mrs. Houska.
9:15 till 9:30 Who is the most faithful character in the Old Testament. List what makes him/her such a faithful character.
9:30 till 10:45 The story of David and Absalom.
10:50 till 11:00 Reaction to the story of David and Absalom
11:00 till 11:15 Journaling.
HOMEWORK Read/mark Readings pages 10-15, section C, in the What is Faith? section. Read over the Mission essay choices.
WEDNESDAY, July 9

THURSDAY, July 10

9:00 till 9:20 Open, student led, discussion on the The Mission.
9:20 till 10:00 Two groups of five each andswering three questions in two different rooms: what is faith, what are the characteristics of faith, list people of faith from history and literature. Each group then critiqued the other group.
10:05 till 10:50 A few short videos showing human faith: womean and smoking; Sr. Gwen and Sr. Deborah going to prison, Crazy Maise.
10:50 till 11:15 Journaling and study for test.
HOMEWORK Finish Mission essay on web site/essay due by Sunday; study for test.

10:00 till 10:50 Students will read and mark "The Attack from Atheism" Readings pages 103-118.

HOMEWORK Each student writes a 10 point quiz, 5 points on Nietzsche and 5 points on Hobbes. Tomorrow there will be a 10 point quiz on this and you will be able to use your quiz during my quiz. Look over test and learn from mistakes.
TUESDAY, July 15
