Tentative Grading Plan

400+ point grading scale
About 30 points per major section of the course
plus 60 point quarter and an 80 point semester final exam.
In the First Quarter, each section has two major grades.


Homework: reading, some quizzes, some assignments will be graded and recorded but will not be directly part of the numerical grade. These evaluations will be used to gauge effort, cooperation, and help the student to know if he is doing and understanding the content on a short term basis. These grades will affect the Contribution to Class grade for each quarter.

In the Second Quarter each of the three sections has a web assignment, a test and a journal. there will also be a grade for class contribution and for web site.

There will be a quarter exam and a semester exam, each worth 60+ points.

Remember that you can earn up to +10 in extra credit per quarter! All extra credit needs to be approved by the teacher.
