Faith Course Tentative Grading Plan

400+ point grading scale
About 50 points per major section of the course
plus 50 point quarter and final exam

There are six major sections of the course, each worth 50 points. Each section has four major grades.

• 10 points for classwork. Homework is done well and on time. Quizzes show the work is being done. Web site is up to date and done with care. The student contributes to class.
  
  
• 10 point journal. This should be on your web page and a hard copy isusually due the day before the section test. Five parts, rubric grading:
  1. One paragraph summary of the key idea summarizing the major idea of the section. This is the last thing you do in this journal.
  2. List and explain three of the most important ideas you want to remember from this section. These need to be significant ideas to you and you need to explain them in such a way that the reader can understand the idea and see why it is significant for you. This is done little by little over the course of the section. Use examples to back up and illustrate your key idea. Take these from this class but also from history, literature, movies, theater, art, music, sports, your own life. Please do not wait to do this at the end or it'll become busy work.
  3. One or two good images of that remind you of key ideas. Attribute, link, your source.
  4. The fourth part will change. It may be one good question you should keep with you to ponder. It might be an introspection about what should you try to do to make you a better person, a more faithful person, from this unit of study.
