Prophet Research Project
--> Through the prophets, God forms his people in the hope of salvation, in the expectation of a new and everlasting Covenant intended for all, to be written on their hearts. The prophets proclaim a radical redemption of the People of God, purification from all their infidelities, a salvation that will include all the nations.?
Prophets received messages from God and delivered it to the individual nation.
1. Identify your prophet.
How was he called?
Describe the structure of material in Scripture.
What was his platform or focus?
Who were the people he spoke to?
What was happening at the time to disrupt God's grace in the specific Nation?
True prophets are depicted in Scripture as defenders of the pure worship of one God. They oppose religious apostasy, syncretism of the Canaanite culture and kings who did not uphold the Covenant code.
2. What was your particular prophet's message?
Tell his story.
Who would be the appropriate modern day match for him? (Other than those cited in the workbook)
What issues today need to be addressed by prophets in regard to our Catholic faith?
