A+ = 95-100% A = 90-95%
B+ = 85-90% B = 90-95%
C+ = 75-80% C = 70-75%

Chapter Test
(9 chapters worth +10 points each)

Chapter Journal
(9 sections worth +10 each)
An intellectual journal done as a web page. There will be five sections on this:
A) What is the one key idea of this chapter. pay attention to the title of the chapter!
B) Write about two major ideas you want to remember. Write a short paragraph on each clearly stating the idea and then telling why you want to remember it.
C) One image that captures the chapter for you.
D) One significant question you have from this chapter. It can be intellectual or personal.
E) Do one of the “Living the Gospel” questions at the end of the chapter. Write out the question, reflect upon it and write out your answer.
Journals are due on the day we have our chapter test. These will help you learn the key ideas of the chapter.


Section assignment
(5 sections worth +10 each)
These will very by section and will let you explore a topic in the section with some depth. There will usually be choices. If you do not like any of the choices and have a better assignments you’d like to do, I am always open to contracting. You have to see me first and get my approval.


Section class work
(3 sections worth +10 each)
Student begins with +8
Add points for
• contribution to the class
• journals and web assignment done well and in on time.
• prompt and good work on his web site
• really good grades on reading quizzes and homework
Subtract points for
• late to class or late work, including late web site work
• poor quiz and homework grades
• minimal journals and web assignments.
• not contributing to class discussion

NB: Due dates on Section Journals and Web assignments require the web page up and accessible and a hard copy turned in on time.
