Concrete Application: Catholic Social Teaching
Assignment You will receive a worksheet to complete during the class. You will complete the worksheet as best you can and hand it in at the end of class. This is the first draft. You will finish this later and it will be graded.
First step. Answer the question assigned to you:
- Is killing another person always wrong?
- How should we treat immigrants wanting to come to the United States?
- How should we treat the homeless?
- Do we have any responsibility to take care of our environment?
- Is the Eucharist really essential to following Jesus, o jsut a good suggestion?
- Should you forgive someone who wrongs you? If so, how often?
- Is there a question you would want to delve into?
Second Step: Pair with another student and read his answer. Write your reactions to his ideas on his paper. Then ask questions to better understand what he says and why he is thinks this.
Third Step: Take your page back. Go to your Bibles and write what you can find in the Bible about this. Cite sources.
Fourth Step: Use your laptop and find out if the Church has anything to say on this subject. Cite sources. Use the web sites already recomemnded, and suggested on our course home page. Find some good sources on your own.
Wherever you are on this assignment, hand in at the end of class.
