On one side put the societal message and note where its source. On the other explain how this reflects one of the negative values Zanzig cites in Chapter One of our text. This should be an easy +10. In preparation for this week's Chapter One Test, it would be good for my students to us the on-line review. Cut and past the Chapter One Review from First Quarter Review on a word document and use it to guide your study.
Anyone who gets a D or an F on this or any test in the first semester will be asked to take this review, write in all the correct answers and define the vocabulary words. Then the student meets with me outside of class and we will correct it together. The student's grade will become a C if everything is done well. If a student does not do this within two days of the return of the test, I will call home and ask for a meeting with the parents and the student.

Get ready for tomorrow's class. Bring one subject spiral notebook, one two envelop folder with about 10 sheets of looseleaf paper and the handouts you received today in it. Also bring your Understanding Catholic Christianity text and writing utensils. If you have not yet bought the text, get it. I have a few good, used copies for sale. You'll need the text by the end of the week.
Bring home my letter to your parents and give it to them. Read the letter with them and at least skim over the other pages.
Visit my Freshman Theology Web Site Home Page and bookmark it. Show this to your parents. Check out my course website, especially the first quarter assignment page and tell them they can look up what we are doing and what the homework is anytime they want. You all can look at my "All-Stars" and see the semester grades for my freshmen. If you do not have the internet at home, do this in our library.

When you do not have any specific homework in a subject, still give 10-15 minutes. Take care of what you did not do or need to do. Learn what you missed. Go over and review all you have done and learned this week.
