class Discuss worldview in light of identity and development.
homework Skim over St. Louis U. High's "The Profile of the Graduate at Graduation." There is a copy in your student planner. "In describing the graduate, under five general categories, we chose those qualities which seem most desirable not only for this threshold period, but those which seem most desirable for his adult life. These five general categories sum up the many aspects or areas of life most in accord with a full adult living of the Christian life." In your spiral write down the five categories. This document summarizes a lot about the worldview of this school in its ideals of what a person should try to be. Put a skeletal outline in your spiral This should help you better understand the idea of a worldview as you study for the test.

class (1) Bible reading (student version) and prayer (2) xchange and read over freshman survey. Introduce student with whom you share and desk. Say one interesting thing about him you learned from the survey. Collect these. (3) Return tests and talk about how to really learn: spiral note taking and "really getting an assigned reading."
homework (1) Correct test. Write in the correct answers and box them. Learn from your mistakes. (2) Finish parent interview to be handed in tomorrow. Make sure you follow directions. Did you parent read it and sign it?

Homework (1) Go to the outside of the Theater and look at, read, the friezes on the wall. If anyone is interested in doing a web stie on this for extra credit, see me. (2) Read Zanzig pages 14-22. (3) You gave your parent the interview letter yesterday. Set a time for your Parent Interview. Make sure you have one hour alone with your parent undisturbed. (2a) Strong suggestion: look on student work page for an example of a well done parent interview assignment. (3) Review for mini-test.

When you do not have any specific homework in a subject, still give 10-15 minutes. Take care of what you did not do or need to do. Learn what you missed. Go over and review all you have done and learned this week.


Friday, August 29

homework (1) Get parent interview done by Sunday. Begin to, and take some time to, reflect. Do your writing on Monday, a day or two after the interview. Make sure you follow directions. Finish student survey, due next class.
