class (1) The Goals of Jesuit Education, prayer, the examen, "The Grad at Grad" (2) Begin to discuss key ideas in Chapter One.
homework Finish your Father Interview Assignment. Then you will have a day or two to have your father read it. Ask him what he thinks about your reflections. Make sure he signs it. Invite him to write a comment. Hand this in by Wednesday, September 10, at the latest.

class (1) Begin with Ignatius Prayer for Generosity. Know it for the first test. (2) Check homework and assignment book (3) "Are you open? Are a good listener?" Bible Reading for the Week & Review. Mass readings of Direction Days. Note some of the advice pages, from recent seniors and from recent freshmen.
homework (1) Read over Class Guidelines" booklet and let show this to your parents. (2) Look over the course webs site, bookmark it and show it to you parents. (3) Correct the survey just returned. Learn.

Wednesday, August 27
class (1) Begin with Ignatius Prayer for Generosity. (2) Responses or questions about class rules and guildelines? (3) Hand out grading sheet (4) Assign the Parent Interview. (5) Continue to work on spiral notebook.
Homework: (1) Read over "Tentative Grading" (2) Begin Father Interview Assignment First step is merely giving the letter to your parent and setting up a time for the interview. Bring home letter to your parents and give it to them. If there is anything you are uncomfortable with and want to discuss, see me outside of class. Make sure you bring your assignment book to class. Click here for an example of a past Father Interview. This was good but would have been better with more specifics from his father. (2) Complete Personal Surver and hand in Friday.

Thursday, August 28
class (1) Practice Quiz. (2) Return corrected surveys; answer any questions (3) Work on setting up spiral.
Homework: Work on Father Interview. Think about it. Write down some questions you'd like to ask.


Friday, August 29
class Continue reviewing survey and setting up spiral. Explain snail question.
Homework: Have your interview with your father sometime over this three day weekend. Reaad and follow my directions. They are given to help you have a good experience and write a good essay.

When you do not have any specific homework in a subject, still give 10-15 minutes.
Take care of what you did not do or need to do. Learn what you missed.
