Starfire
I wore this costume first at Anime Oasis 2005. This costume was a lot of fun becuase I had three of the other four Teen Titans to be a group with.
Starfire was entirely made by me. I altered patterns to fit what I needed and did all of the sewing myself.
I kept the fact that Starfire is a super hero in mind when I picked out the costume's fabrics. I went for the brightest colors and fabric.
I found the thigh high boots to cover at our local stripper supply store (one of the few perks of costuming in Nevada) for $20. This made it much easier than I thought it would be to do Star's boots. I feared having to make boot covers. I just had to cover the boots with fabric. I will be going back and redoing that with a better job.
I discovered something unpleasant while I was in costume. I discovered that my skin reacts horribly to the silver fabric that this costumes was made of. So all of the silver parts will have to be remade with either different fabric or made with lining inside.
