Auron
This is Auron from Final Fantasy X. This is his young form as seen in the Jecht spheres.
I was orginially going to have this comissioned by the beautiful and talented Setsuna Kou, but I did not have enough money at the appropriate time. So I ended up making this.
I started out by finding this *great* fabric at Wal*mart. I bought all of it they had, which was like five yards. The whole time I was thinking that I hoped no one else wanted to be anime character that wears a big red coat. (There are quite a few) So, gleeful in my purchase I went to my parent's house to begin work.
My step-father ended up doing most of the detail sewing. I sewed all of the big seems. Then it was back to the ironing board for me. The part I hated the most to make about this costume were the 16 belt loops for the sleeves. I still need to make 16 more for the other sleeve at some point.
I bought the pants and a black t-shirt, which I altered, and I already had the shoes.
My step-father did all of the wood working on the sword, I just painted it. The edge on that thing was sharp an it's just a piece of pine.
