Part V
THE LAST DAY & HEADING HOME TO TRENTON & BEYOND

Sluggy left me at the Table with Sonny. I tried my best to pour coffee into him to keep his eyes open. All this partying and schmoozing was really starting to show on him. Every now and again I gave him a GOOSE on the Tail Feathers to keep him alert. Sluggy was off tending to her duties. She was given the task of assisting Ruth Fraser at her table for the Critter Signing like Brenda & Cathy had done the day before. Sluggy said she had a nice time chatting with Ruth in between the work. Ruth was such a nice person to spend the moring with. Sluggy's friend Roberta came over later and had her picture taken with Ruth.

Roberta was thrilled to meet Ruth Fraser.

I also had Sonny walk me out so me, Sluggy & Ruth could have a photo-op too.
Ruth Fraser, Sluggy & Me.

The weather turned ugly around 10 am. that morning and all the convention goers quickly closed up their tables by noon and decided to head home early before the snow got too deep. I watched as Sonny & Sluggy hurriedly threw everything back into boxes & loaded it all into the van. We all bid a hasty if not premature goodbye to all our friends as they each departed.

After a quick stop for some pick-me up coffee and pie, SONNY, SLUGGY & I, BONNIE, headed out into the snowstorm for our trip home. It was quite a ride, careening up I-95 in that snowy, icy mess.
I can tell you that my flesh was all Chicken Bumpy with worry as the snow covered the roads and made driving treacherous. But SONNY just kept steering us homeward and we made it safely to Trenton around midnight.
SLUGGY was worried about continuing onward to her place as the forecast called for continued precipitation through the early morning hours. Being the genteel host that he is, SONNY graciously extended an invite for us to lay-over at his Estate til the fine folks from the Trenton Dept. of Sanitation saw fit to clear the roadways of the slushy mess.
SLUGGY & I thought it best to take SONNY up on his offer of a roof for the night so we huddled in the doorway on Clinton St. while SONNY unlocked the main gates and we ventured into the Kardas Estate & Museum.
