I'm holding it in my hand right now, and on the cover I can read "15 bands / 30 songs / 77 minutes" and the best part is that it's 110% pure swedish. It's with both joy and anxiety I put it in my cd-player, will it meet my expectations or will it fail? And honestly my expectations are pretty high thanks to what I've heard about the first volume... Almost 80 minutes have passed and I'm not disappointed, not disappointed at all. But to my surprise it's a lot of good streetpunk, and a lot less Oi!. If I had it my way it would be the other way, but I guess there's just not enough Oi! bands in sweden today. Still it's full of good songs and loud sing-a-long choruses. Some bands certainly stand out in the crowd, while other seems to just have lost it (if they ever had it). Dims Rebellion, Blisterhead and a lot of other bands on there has a promising future for them. Atleast if I was to decide. So far so good, but what's really disappoiting me is that the only band that actually sings in swedish is Agent Bulldog. Why is this? It makes me a bit sad, but nothing is perfect. It's an album full of raw power, energy and a lot of joy. It's swedish and it rules. It should make every swedish skinhead and punk proud. Streetpunk don't get much better than this, so if that's what turns you on you better get your hands on "Brewed in Sweden II"! Rating: 85% |
