OLD SCHOOL MEETS THE NEW BREED
A long time ago (in 1990) Mattias and Thomas started playing Oi! in Ume�s first Oi!band called Bullshit. In 1997 they played their last gig and the band was put on ice. Thomas started to play in other bands and Mattias joined Guttersnipe on the Join The Strike album. Guttersnipe was also put on ice and after a while Mattias talked to Thomas about playing together again. They recruited some young blood, a mate called Nisse who could play bass and sing. Their first idea was to play some Bullshit songs, but it didn�t work out too good, so they started to do their own songs and called in some more new breed. It was another friend called Anton and his guitarplaying made the music more powerful. The Sluggers were formed and it was in the year of 2000. We have played some gigs in our hometown, but we wish some people out there will contact us for gigs in other towns and abroard. We�ve made one studiorecording and 2 songs appears on the swedish Oi! compilation Brewed In Sweden vol 2. We�ve plans to record new stuff soon and also hope to release a EP or LP?! Our name (The Sluggers) is made up on the facts that we�re a bit like sluggers, a hard way of life and lots of fighting spirit. Mattias and Anton are also practising boxing for IFK Ume�. Our music is punk/Oi! with some influences of hard core and rock�n�roll. We�re the pride of north Sweden.
