For your amusement,
we decided to write out the Band Biography as a "Behind the
Music," even though most of it isn't true. So take it all with
a grain of salt, .... k? |

in the
beginning
As children growing up in the slums of Wantagh, New
York, Chris Theodorou, Timothy Coombs, and Christopher Wrigley used music
to find solace from the harsh realities of the outside world. As
they grew older, the three realized their mutual interest, and dreamt of
becoming rock stars. Blood Lots of Blood was the realization of this
very dream... The three enlisted the help of three local metalheads, Toad,
Tim From Within, and a guitarist known only as "Barbituate
Boy." The early days were rough, many a cold night the sextet
was forced to eat the "losers lunch." (Bologna in hand...)
However, they soon struck it big in the High School talent show circuit,
and a legend was born... |

loss and gain
However, what seemed like a rocket-ride to stardom was
cut short by misery. Vocalist Tim Coombs' life became a downward
spiral, when he found himself addicted to Nyquil(tm.) Coombs' addiction
tore the band apart, and eventually, tearfully, they had to let him
go. Without Coombs, Blood Lots of Blood lost direction. A
series of replacements were auditioned, but no one could take Coombs'
place. Drummer Chris Wrigley fell into a deep depression, and began
to turn to male prostitutes to ease his pain. However, Chris Theo
would not be stopped, and he finally struck gold when he enlisted "Sludgecore
Mike" as the new singer. This was the summer of '98, and in
reality, it was the summer of sludge. Mike was what the band had
needed to bring them back togethor, and he signed on full-time. This
ushered in a new era of sludge, and began a period in which some of their
most famous songs were penned. However, just as BLOB was regaining
their old form, tragedy stuck again... Toad and "Barbituate Boy"
were gunned down in a gang-war over "turf," and again the BLOB
boys were left with a hole in their band ... and their hearts. It
wasn't until much later that Rich (whom the boys new from Carvel) filled
both of these gaps, and became the new bassist. |

This next period was one of the most prolific in BLOB history.
They played countless shows all across Nassau County. However, after
constant touring, Wrigley decided his heart just wasn't in it
anymore. He left the band, to pursue other options, including the
part of Angel in Rent. After a suitable period of mourning,
Theo signed on Post No Bill to replace Wrigley, and Eric the Goth as a
second guitarist. Everything was going well, until that fateful day
in the recording studio. Sludgecore Mike stepped on Tim's foot, Tim
called his sister a whore, and then Mike flashed his nine. It was an
emotional experience, and one which forced Tim to quit the band.
(Although they claimed the split was amicable.) None-the-less, Hugo
was signed on to replace Tim From Within, and thus the current incarnation
of BLOB was born. |
