1. Features Overview

The Phone Dialer PlugIn for thinkDB 2.0 allows users to dial phone numbers
from a thinkDB database.

2. System Requirements

The Phone Dialer Plugin requires:
- Kyocera Smartphone
- thinkDB 2.x or greater
- 12k free memory on the device

3. Installation

To install the Phone Dialer PlugIn, double-click the PhoneDialerPlugIn.prc file.
The Palm Install Tool will present a dialog to continue installation.
Alternatively, select Install from within Palm Desktop and choose the
PhoneDialerPlugin.prc file.

4. Usage Overview

   a. Configuring PlugIn Field

   From the Field Editor, select Field Type thinkDB PlugIn from the Field Type
   list. Selecting the small box to the right will open the Field Properties
   dialog.  From the PlugIn list, select PhoneDialerPlugIn.  Three fields will 
   appear, "Phone Number", "Dialog" and "History (opt)".

   Selecting "Phone Number" will allow the user to choose a Text field that 
   holds phone number to dial.

   Selecting "Dialog" will allow the user to configure the plugin to display the
   "Call Dialog" form or not, when the plugin is called.  The "Call Dialog" form
   allows the user to enter notes while making the phone call.

   Selecting "History (Opt)" will allow the user to choose a Memo field (or text
   field) to hold notes taken during the phone call.

   The "Results in" field should be the same field selected in the option "History".
   This will tell thinkDB to store the changes made to the History back into 
   the database.


   b. Making Calls

   When viewing records in Record View, select the Timer PlugIn field to launch
   the Phone Dialer.

   If the plugin was configured as "No Dialog", the phone number will be called
   and no dialog will be presented.

   If the plugin was configured as "Show Dialog", the phone number will be called
   and a dialog will be displayed with the History field visible for changes.


   c. The Phone Dialer Dialog

   In the Phone Dialer Dialog, there are the following options:

   - Timestamp: Inserts the date and time in the History field.

   - OK: Return to thinkDB.  

   - Cancel: Return to thinkDB and cancel the changes made on the History field.
     Phone call will not be disconnected.

   - Hang-up: Hang-up the phone
