Points System Training
Why do we use Points?
We at S & L use what we call "The Points System" to ensure quality installation times and timely services to our customers and clients. To ensure that Team Members do not over schedule or under schedule our Tecs or sales reps, and to monitor daily activity for our accounting staff.  Points are used after the account is created in the billing department, and emailed or printed and the invoice is then taken with the Tec to the job.

What is a Point?
A Point is a unit of measurement of time in decimals used for each Tec job (see
commissions.htm for details)
Here is an example:

Job:                  Points
House Call          2.0
Based on the job for the Tec, see commission listing for points
Install Internet    0.05
---------------------------
Total  2.5

This job will take a total of 2 and 1/2 hours to complete.

Scheduling using the Points System

Use these steps to schedule a Job using the Points System
1. Determine the work needed, troubleshoot and offer suggestions and options to the customer
      A. If no further assistance is needed, thank the customer and end the call
      B. If assistance is needed offer our Tec Services
      C. Determine how many points are needed for the Job
      D.Create Online Invoice
Click Here to see or add the customer to QuickBooks or notify Billing
      E. Check and verify availability either via internet, calling the office, or calling a Tec
      F. Have the estimate or Invoice created and printed or emailed to the customer

Based on the availability of the Tec, the Job is then scheduled:
Example:

Tom our Tec is available for 1 hour more on this day and the job takes 4 Points, so we have 2 options:
      1. Schedule the Job for another time or another Tec
      2. Send a second Tec for 1/2 price $17.50 per hour (verified by customer)

Things to Remember
There are only 8 Points per Tec per day..
Customers Account Must be created before a Job can be scheduled
Notify Billing
Call the Tec and Verify or make sure someone in the office is aware of the appointment
All Jobs where the Points are "split" must be verified by the Tec and the Customer
in billable hours
Keep in mind, a house call may use more points than listed:
Example:
A house call to Charlotte is 4 Points (travel time included)

1 hour there
                  1 hour to return
and 1 to 2 hours for the job
(consider other jobs may be required per customer)
