石牛洞 (Shi Niu Dong) Tentage
Saturday 1 September 2007

Here are some shots of the 石牛洞 (Shi Niu Dong) tentage on the night of the Ah Peh party.

The tentage is up at Jalan Berseh, behind the market.

The visiting tangkis were met and challenged by a dragon who then allowed them to pass under a arch formed by its (the dragon's) body.

For the temple's own tangkis like the Kuan Yin in this photo, there was no challenge.

The party entertainment starts with a drum performance. The syncronised drumming was very Japanese-inspired. Unfortunately, I had to leave just after the performance and didn't catch the rest of the evening.

Notice the very traditional banquet seating for the tangkis - each had their own yellow table with thee host seated in the centre.
