Opening of New Loyang Tua Pek Kong Temple (洛阳大伯公宫) Saturday 4 August 2007 I didn't catch the Loyang Tua Pek Kong (洛阳大伯公宫) procession bringing the deities to the new building at 20 Loyang Way but I hear it was quite the crowded and spectular parade. |
While I missed the procession on the night of the 3rd,
I did make it in time for the opening of the new temple itself at 3am on the 4th. Here is a shot of the temple's committee offering incense at 3am just before the barriers were taken down and the public allowed in. |
As you can see from the phots on the left, the main hall is very grand.
Although the building itself isn't that big, the hall is the largest Taoist/拜神 hall I've seen in Singapore. There are gold and lights everywhere. While impressive, it's not quite my taste in decor (my aversion to gold for one). |
