Minipad Beta2

 the mini notes and alarm companion

The minipad is an application used to store small notes such as url, phone numbers, etc. the application also has an alarm clock that can be used to keep track of time.

The Application is currently set as beta, all known bugs have been fixed and/or removed.

requirements

The application is pretty much of a small form factor so can be installed on most basic IBM compatible PC’s, the main requirements though are;

·         Windows XP or Vista (tested also on x64 bit OS)

·         5MB of free space

·         .NET framework 3.5

·         Html reader to view the EULA

Making Notes

Minipad is a simple application and so acts as such. You simply start the application, enter your notes (you can paste these in the text area) click save and enter a new name for your note.

The text area contains a spell check which can be used to correct most incorrect spelling errors. The minipad editor only handles the opening and saving of mini notes, if you open a previously saved note, minipad will not ask you to save changes that are made.

Minipad saves notes as .mnts files

Setting alarms

The alarm feature for minipad is used to set alarms. The alarm window sets an alarm time and name.

Once an alarm has been set, a small icon appears in the task bar that can be used to keep track of the Alarm (and also set or snooze the alarm)

The icons on the task bar will show the number of alarms currently active.

All active alarms would be cancelled on exit of the minipad application

Future developments and bug reports

The following are plans for the future of the application;

1.       The ability to make the minipad application to minimize its window to the task bar.

2.       Custom alarm tones.

3.       The ability to highlight a text and send it to a minipad file.
