Let's examine the sins of each family member.

This picture just about sums up the man. He has definately sinned. Homer spends his days sleeping on the job at Springfield's nuclear power plant. On many occassions he has brought the plant close to meldown because of his napping. He spends his time off either at home in front of the T.V. eating pork rinds or he sits at Moe's tavern with Barney doing absolutly nothing. However, Homer means well and sometimes he does make an effort to be part of his children's lives but usually for the wrong reason. It's usually not for their well being but for his. He would be a model SLOTHL member.

Marge is the vioce of reason but she doesn't always fight hard enough for her vioce to be heard. She has not greatly sinned, she could call Reverand Lovejoy and ask for forgiveness with no problems. Marge is a good mother and she can reason with Homer's crazy ideas, which keeps the family together. All of the work that she does to keep the family together would not look well on her SLOTHL application if she ever applied.

Bart is a classic underachiever. He works as hard as he can to do no work at all. He is interested in getting right to the point and doesn't care about the details, which tends to get him into trouble. Bart almost had to repeat a grade because of his laziness but fear of being made fun by his peers made him work to pass the second grade. He would be a borderline choice for SLOTHL because although he is usually incredibly lazy, sometimes he will work too hard to do no work at all.
Lisa is the exception to the rule. She is smart, conscientious, caring and she can apply her knowledge to any situation- for example when she taught Bart how to miniature golf by using geometry. Lisa takes pride in her work and her saxophone-playing and she hates it when other children tease her because she is smart. If we ever received an application from Lisa, we would obviously reject her on the spot without even reading it. (Note: This is not implying that we actually read any of the applications - that would be too much work - but obviously we would not bother exerting effort to read one from such a highly-motivated individual)

Maggie. Well Maggie is an interesting case of sloth. The Simpsons television show has been on the air for several seasons during all of which the other characters have aged, yet Maggie still remains the same age. She has never said a word and she still cannot walk without falling down every other step. She can also never be without her pacifier. Maggie seems to be to lazy to bother growing any older, which is yet another trait of a model SLOTHL member.
