01/29/2002 - Still Unemployed... I'm playing a little bass with Michelle Murray and doing some freelance and contract computer work, but nothing perm. yet. Anybody need a PC tech?
Megan said "unjustifiable" for some reason. She's 3. Should she have that kind of a vocabulary? We watched "E.T." last night. I hope they don't start saying "penis-breath".

01/04/2002 It's been a while since I updated. Forgive me, I've been, well a cross between real busy and unmotivated. I lost my job. The company I worked for was bought out by another company a year or so ago. The new company decided to have their own man service our area as well as his own, eliminating my position. I know it's business, but it seemed like a pretty lousy business decision, if you ask me (or anyone else who works there. I got a great send off and felt I would be missed dearly, not only as a fellow employee, but as a friend.) Since then, I've registered for unemployment, and registered at a few staffing agencies. I'm also into doing as much freelance computer work as possible. I'll try to update this more often seeing that I have plenty of time now.

8/26/01 Added the Slorge Wars and Sco Trek pages. Just having some fun! Also added links to PopUp Killer and how to fix it so the error boxes don't come up when accessing Geocities pages. PS Wil's got his page done!

8/23/01 Rolling around the idea in my head of actually paying for my domain. August 31st, 2001 slorge.net with stop working and shortly after that slorge.com goes away. If you'd like to donate $$$ to keep the domain functioning, write [email protected]. If not, I don't blame you. Nobody visits this site any way.

8/22/01 Got a cool cheapo digital camera today for $7.00!!! At one of my favorite online geek shops Computer Geeks.com they had the JAM C@M 3.0 USB digital camera for $37.00 and a link at the bottom of the page (not mentioned anywhere in the text description of the camera) for a coupon for a $30 rebate!! The pics aren't great, escpecially the low level 320X240 pics, but it does do a good job in good lighting (or in no lighting with flash) and you can always touch up the jpg's with some graphic app. Here's a sample pic of me driving!! (Kids don't try this at home!! Remember 2 and 10) and another of a couple of guys (Steve Van Popering and Brandon Phillips) from work (actually visitors from the home office in Phoenix, AZ)

8/18/01 Well, I finally got my New Refurbished Quickcam VC in. Needless to say, "It rocks!" Much better picture than the Quickcam Express. I also took the Webcams off of the main page. Now you have to click at least once to see me. I loaded Well of Souls on the PC, tonight. It's a cool graphical RPG, that's FREE!! My Character's name is Slorge Gridlock. Am I taking this online persona too far?

8/13/01 I had tremendous pain over the weekend in my mouth!! I went to the dentist Monday morning and they pulled it! I've scanned the tooth, though my scanner's not the best. Here's the pic. Can't really tell from the photo, but it was mostly filling anyway. Upper right wisdom tooth. I got off from work all day, too.

8/10/01 Found out that I'm listed in the MP3.com radio station called "Bassists - The Best Bass Players on MP3.com". I'm a freakin' star!

8/9/01 1 AM I disabled the Slorge@home cam. TCP/IP is still locking up and it's got me baffled. It's either someone constantly scanning my ports, or nic card is bad, or some other driver is corrupt. I may swap out nics. Good news! I won a CCD USB Quickcam VC (that's "CCDUSBQCVC" for those of you infatuated with initials) on Ebay for $20 (originally sold for $99)(link good for 90 days). BTW I edit this page on a WYSIWYG (pronounced "wussy-wig" LOL) editor (FrontPage Express). 3PM. Hey, I just read something (something else, too) about how it could be the "Code Red" web server virus that's causing my TCP/IP to freeze.  Not actually on my machine, but caused by all the unsecure web servers out there. My cable modem is always blinking, regardless of whether or not I'm on the Internet. 11:30 PM I installed ZoneAlarm's Free firewall on my system. There sure are a lot of port 80 probes going on.

8/6/01 I rebuilt my PC at home. I backed up a lot of files on 2 CDR's and, of course, forgot to verify that one of the CD's was good! Lost all that data! Oh, well. I probably didn't need it anyway. I had the important stuff backed up to another CD anywho.... BTW, the system's TCP/IP is still hanging. I did have some problems rebuilding. I may have to try it again.....
I did nullify some registry entries that seemed to speed it up, but still having some internet problems. Maybe a firewall......hmmmm.

7/30/01 Added Hobby.htm. Updated weblog. Later that day - uploaded some more pictures and updated all around.

7/29/01 Added some links to older stuff I had done to the main page. Edited some bad links and old e-mail tags. Added Weblog (this page).

7/28/01 Geocities FTP is down!! I couldn't log onto my ftp, so I went to a chat room to find out what was happening and it turns out the FTP was down. While I was in the chat room, I spoke with someone who's login name was tvswilwheaton (TV's Wil Wheaton) I thought "yeah right!" He gave me his URL and I checked out his page. It really is him. Mr. Wesley Crusher from Star Trek:TNG. Cool. We've written a couple of letters back and forth already. I'M NOT A STALKER!! I'M A HAPPILY MARRIED HETEROSEXUAL MAN!! I just think it's neat that someone so famous was so cool and real and self admittedly, lame.

7/27/01 I got the webcams going using Anfy java script to refresh the images without refreshing the page! Those Anfy applets are great!

7/26/01 Something's wrong with Namezero.... It can't find my Geocities page to redirect to slorge.net!! Oh, well, NameDemo is still working with Slorge.com.
