10. Coal Chamber - Coal Chamber
"Coal Chamber's self-titled debut probably does not have the greatest guitar, bass, or drum playing on it. Dez is not the worlds greatest vocalist. The CD isn't the most original thing I've ever heard. And yet somehow, I can put it in my stereo, put the entire CD on repeat, listen to it for hours, and I still enjoy it. Coal Chamber's music is senseless, luticrist, angry, and has no long-term value. But I'd be lying if I said that I don't believe this CD doesn't deserve to be in my top 10."9. Incubus - Make Yourself
"'Make Yourself,' Incubus' second full-length CD is awe-inspiring. Many bands who use lots of effects in their music depend on them to make their music sound cool because they aren't skilled enough musicians. Every member of Incubus is an exceptional musician. Incubus uses all sorts of strange effects in their songs, and yet when they do an acoustic song (drive) or acoustic versions of songs that normally have effects, they still sound great. Incubus' music is original, thought-provoking, and speaks for itself. Give this CD a listen."8. Weezer - Weezer
"Weezer's first album gives a voice to all the geeks of the world. What else is there to say?"7. Everclear - Sparkle and Fade
"Everclear's sophomore album, 'Sparkle and Fade,' is cool. Art Alexakis is one of the best lyricist's I've heard in a long time, and although none of the songs on the album are very difficult to play on guitar, bass, or drums, it's still not mindless emo-alternative rock. You can tell, Everclear does not make music because they wanted to become famous, or because they thought they could pick up chicks (although those could be contributing factors,) Everclear makes music because they love to. Every song on this album is original and is not some rip-off of another band. This CD is definitely worth it.
P.S. -Everclear puts on a great show, too."6. Foo Fighters - The Colour and the Shape
"This album is priceless. Dave Grohl is a great musician, and the fact that the ex-Nirvana drummer, does vocals and guitar and drums on this album just increases my respect for him and the Foo Fighters. The vocals are powerful and the lyrics and unique. It's a step-ahead of the more Nirvana-esque debut album. And, I can fall asleep to it. What more could you ask for?"5. Led Zeppelin - IV
"This classic album featured Zeppelin's claim to fame, 'Stairway to Heaven,' (which i can play, i might add) which got Zeppelin all the respect they deserved in the first place. Jimmy Page is one of my idols and this album proves his talent. You'll notice many references on this record, to characters from Tolkien's books, especially The Hobbit. Led Zeppelin was revolutionary and this is their best."4. Nirvana - Nevermind
"'Nevermind,' is cool. Cobain's aggressive style of singing changed alternative music, and made it a real genre. After Nirvana, everything was different. Punk, grunge, metal; nothing was the same. This CD sums up everything Nirvana was and still stands for. Awesome."3. Finger Eleven - Tip
"You may notice that up until now, most of the CD's here are quite well known. All the artists are relatively famous. And here's Finger Eleven. Most people haven't even heard of them. But they rock. Listen to this CD. When you're mad, depressed; when you get dumped, or get turned down; when something bad happens, this is the CD to listen to. I think of F11 as the Canadian Nirvana. Except better. They are the main reason I love Canada so much. Check it out. Rock on."2. Jimi Hendrix
"Yes, I realize I didn't but an album down. That's because I couldn't. I have my own mixed CD of Hendrix songs, and that's what I listen to. His music was always great because he was dedicated and he was a freaking awesome guitarist. Since I can't give you a CD to get, look for these songs, they're my favs: 'Hey Joe,' 'Castles Made of Sand,' 'Are You Experienced.' But just about every song by Hendrix is awesome. He was so great, not just because of being such a talented guitarist, but because he did different things. He started a whole different way to play music. And rock was never the same."1. Korn - Korn
"To quote Guitar World, "Korn is arguably the darkest record ever to go double platinum." Don't tell me you're surprised to see this up here. This CD is number one because of a lot of reasons. Korn has established themselves as being a group of experienced, skilled musicians. Jonathan Davis is my favorite vocalist, anywhere. He is not afraid to totally let all his emotions out when he sings. On 'Daddy,' I get the chills everytime I hear it. If you haven't heard it, I urge you to, as soon as possible. This CD is relentlessly hard, fast, and pounding. Not one track is a let-down from the one before it. Korn is incredible. Period."
