SEVENTH GENERATION

Roderick MacRae was born about 1757 in Scotland to JOHN and ISABELLA MacRAE. He died on 21 Feb 1841 in Lancaster, Glengarry, Ontario and was buried at St. Raphael's Catholic Cemetery. He was probably married to Mary in Scotland.

Mary MacRAE. Children included:

Donald McRAE.
Margaret MacRAE was born before 1802 in Scotland.

It is possible that this family were passengers of the Cochrane or Neptune of Greenock. According to Ships from Scotland to America, 1628-1828, by David Dobson, 1998, The Neptune was a ship of 600 tons. Its master was William Boyd and in 1802 it sailed from Knoydart via Quebec to Upper Canada with (550) 630 passengers from Inverness-shire and Ross-shire.
